Homeless was not the problem but a symptom. What I needed , I was given by Jamie and Christine at valiant minds. I needed a support system, someone to listen and do what a support system does. It was hard not to get choked up when I show up to my graduation and see my support system there. Text messages with , ‘I’m proud of you’ at a point in life where it may break you for good. Those words almost lift you up and remind you that you got another round in you. Alone, broken, lost is no way to get through what may be the toughest battle you’ll face. Thank you Jamie and Christine, I wasn’t alone.
