I have worked with many shelters and rescues over the years, both professionally and personally. FTLOB is exemplary! From the care and dedication of the foster parents, to their vetting process, I’m very impressed! Some may find their application process over the top, but I admire the lengths they go to ensure that the adopter is well prepared to care for a bird, can offer the right environment and lifestyle, and is committed to lifelong responsibility. They also take great care to know the personalities of the birds in their care, so they can find the best matches. A stellar rescue organization!
As a side note, I read a review from a relative of the bird I adopted, an African Grey named Rose. Rest assured, she is a very welcome addition to our family, and she seems quite content and settled in. I’m sorry for the loss of your mother, but please know that her feathered friend Rose has found a good forever home.
