Not too long ago, I bought my first property and not even eight months later I had a house fire actually my entire unit suffered from the fire because I lived in a condo at the time I lost everything on my brand new furniture that I have recently financed and due to things being how they are I still have to pay everything off because my credit score couldn’t afford to take a hit otherwise I wouldn’t be able to get any credit for anything else. My car got repossessed cause I’ve been having to take all my money to afford hotel rooms because of the fire. The city of Ann Arbor said that they do what they can to assist everyone who suffered in the fire, but unfortunately funding wasn’t there to help everyone I’m a 34 year-old African-American female and I’ve been on my own my entire adult life. This is hard for me to reach out for help, but I just don’t know what to do anymore. If somewhere somewhere could find it in their heart to do whatever they could to assist me in my time need I would appreciate it so much. I do believe that there are good people out in the world. it’s just sometimes we all go through things and I hope someone out there can feel my pain and connect with me somehow it’ll truly be a blessing. I know I’ll overcome this tragedy eventually for sure But at the time things are really hard on me and my family. I have two daughters ages six and three and they’ve been trying to stay positive for me because they see me cry often.
