The Gabrielle's Angel Foundation has such a big impact on early-career investigators working on hematological malignancies. Their grants have been awarded to all the most prominent scientists in the field at the time they were just starting. These grants at this early-career moment are critical to lay the foundations of many independent research laboratories. They strengthen the workforce in basic heme malignancies research, and they are the stepping stone for many big discoveries and additional funding. They awarded one of my first grants when I started my own lab and, in doing so, they have been instrumental in my career, and I will be forever grateful!
