I can’t express enough admiration for the incredible work Spay Panama is doing! Their mission to provide affordable dog spays while simultaneously offering hands-on training for veterinary students and other volunteers is nothing short of inspiring. I have never seen volunteers so happy to give their time to an organization so readily and have so much passion for what they do.

The level of care and professionalism shown by the staff is extraordinary. Every animal is treated with the utmost compassion, and the attention to detail throughout the process ensures that each procedure is as safe and comfortable as possible. I watched many volunteers kiss each animal as they prepped it for its spay. It’s clear that Spay Panama values not only the health of the animals but also the quality of education being provided to the students. The staff was more willing to teach than some of my professors are and were happy to spend extra time with me to make sure I did things right.

The hands-on learning experience is invaluable for me, allowing veterinary students to like me to practice real-world skills under the guidance of very experienced professionals. This not only helps bridge the gap between theory and practice but also instills confidence in the next generation of veterinarians. I learned so much in the week I spent volunteering with them and am seriously considering going again- even if it is 2 plane rides away!

The impact this nonprofit has on the community is immeasurable – reducing stray populations, promoting responsible pet ownership, and fostering a healthier environment for pets. I wholeheartedly recommend this organization to anyone looking to support a cause that genuinely makes a difference. We did a spay event for the public, costing only $5 per animal and in 1 day, we spayed 533 animals. It’s heartwarming
and extremely inspiring to know there are people so dedicated to creating a better community.
