Review for Live Like Roo Foundation, Arlington Heights, IL, USA
I've been doing rescue for about 25 years, spending many thousands of dollars of my own money. I hit a rough patch financially, and my 10 year old rescue Lilly suddenly became very ill with chronic explosive diarrhea, insane fluid retention, and rapid muscle wasting. Vet said it was either cancer or PLE - protein losing enteropathy. Each disease needed very different treatment approaches. To know which way to proceed, we needed a $650 ultrasound. LLR didn't even hesitate to pay for it. It was PLE, so I was able to spend the next 9 months working with my vet to try meds and diet modifications to get her stabilized. We ultimately lost her to this horrible disease, but I was SO grateful that I didn't have to give up on her 9 months earlier, without even trying to save her one and only precious life. I will be forever grateful to LLR, and I donate back to them regularly, so that they can help other people and animals they way they helped me when I really needed it. THANK YOU SO MUCH!
