We began our adventure with Carson Scholars Fund, Inc. in the fall of 2014. Our reading room opened in April 2015. Our students and library have benefited from the resources of the reading room. Mrs. Candy Carson, representatives from The Deaver Phoenix Foundation, and representatives from Carson Scholars Fund, Inc. were welcomed to our school as we had the Grand Opening of our Think Big Reading Area. They were greeted with representatives from our school district: the Superintendent of Schools, Board Members and Principal. The past 10 years, students have used the area to continue to develop their love for reading. We have enjoyed the benefits of the grant provided by the sponsors of the Carson Scholars Fund, Inc. I hope to continue to see the benefits across the nation as other schools are involved with this organization and are given the same opportunity. The staff in Maryland have been very helpful over the years in helping guide the use of the grant funds. Carson Scholars Fund, Inc. is a great organization to partner with as a grant receiver or a sponsor of grants.
