ScooterandSissy
Review for National Brussels Griffon Rescue Incorporated, Dallas, TX, USA
We just completed the adoption process for our 4th rescue through this wonderful nonprofit. Holly Pruitt (Adoption Coordinator) and her team have been fantastic to work with. The passion and love they have for this breed is incredible and we feel fortunate to have found NBGR. After we lost our original NGBR rescue (Linus) a couple of years ago, we started looking for another Griff. A real cutie showed up last December on the NBGR Instagram. NGBR does a phenomenal job of vetting potential new owners, and even though we had adopted through NGBR before, we went through the process to once again insure we had a household environment (house/yard/work/lifestyle) that would allow a Griff to thrive. We got the nod (whew!), drove 2 days to Austin, TX, and met Scooter. Scooter was being fostered by a young couple who, as it turns out, were also fostering Scooter’s sister (Sissy). We couldn’t separate siblings….so long story short, we brought BOTH back to Colorado. NGBR helped facilitate (and paid for) Sissy’s spay procedure as well as a thorough vet checkup, which they required prior to adoption. Fast forward just a few months and we got a call from Holly about a tiny stray Griff that had been picked up on a street near Denver and was being held in an Animal Shelter. Would we foster her? Sure! We picked up Tomato and soon discovered she had serious knee issues that required major surgery for 2 legs. NGBR paid for the surgery, and all vet appointments including visits with specialists for other concerns. Through all this we fell in love AGAIN and just completed Tomato’s adoption. No…3 is not a crowd! Thanks to everyone at NGBR, for everything they do – this is a GREAT nonprofit organization. Please support them!
