I started volunteering at Wildcare 7 years ago in their Birdroom. We are a center that rehabs our local wildlife and works with the community to help us all understand how to live with and respect that wildlife. During baby season we feed numerous local species of orphaned and injured animals. We are also one of the few wildlife rescues in the area that cares for pigeons. Pigeons are quite lovely and baby pigeons are truly delightful, with their yellow tufts and excited curiosity. (Can you tell I love pigeons?).

Working at Wildcare has opened my eyes to how I can lessen my impact on our local wildlife and keep our beautiful county vibrant. The staff and volunteer staff are dedicated, working in our historic old facility, providing a second chance to our wild neighbors, and educating our human neighbors in how to live with and appreciate the beauty around us.

It's a really good organization and I'm proud to be a part of it.
