Review for Muddy Paws Rescue, New York, NY, USA
I adopted my dog Addie from Muddy Paws Rescue in 2021 after hearing about them from a family member who had adopted from them in 2017.
The process to become a registered adopter was straightforward, taking about 2 weeks from the time I filled out the registration form, to being ready to adopt, but also incredibly thorough including a call with a volunteer to learn more about my preferences in a dog. Once registered, I kept a close eye on the website daily until I saw a dog I was interested in. After emailing the adoptions team, I received a response within a few hours and moved forward with scheduling a meeting.
Since it was during the height of the pandemic, meetings were being held virtually over zoom. Despite not meeting her in person prior to making a decision, I felt as confident as I could in my decision to adopt because the information from Muddy Paws was so thorough. I knew about her routine while in her foster home, and even had the chance to ask her foster questions about her schedule and behavior. While picking her up 2 days later, the staff and volunteers at the event made sure things were running smoothly, from giving her vaccines, to explaining the walking device that she had been using in foster care. It was clear that everyone I encountered cares deeply about the best interest of each and every pup that passes through their care and are genuinely invested in their placement and success.
Following her adoption, I heard from MPR several times, checking in to see how she was settling in, and I made sure to take advantage of the many resources they provide to adopters, including trainer recommendations. I couldn't imagine my life without Addie and I'm so appreciative to MPR for everything they did to bring her into my life.
