After being retired for several years, I started to volunteer at Open Door of Freehold March of 2024. I have the privilege of being part of a wonderful team at Open Door, committed to providing comprehensive support services for people who have a need for food as well as other services that Open Door provides. My personal experience with Open Door has been exceptionally positive, driven by its strong mission statement, excellent location, and outstanding work culture among the volunteers that help to achieve the mission. All of the volunteers are very friendly and supportive of each other, leveraging our individual strengths towards meeting the commitments in helping others in need. My favorite part of the few roles that I take on is getting to meet many of the clients , upon entering Open Door, and getting them to smile/laugh knowing we are here to help them in their time of need. For me personally, this is nothing less than an awesome and rewarding experience.
