Review for JAMESON HUMANE, Napa, CA, USA
First let’s address the name - Jameson Humane (formerly Jameson Animal Rescue Ranch). Humane? This organization is far from humane for animals or people.
Animals are kept in small enclosures stripped of their ability to practice their natural behaviors. This would be an acceptable situation for emergency rescue with quick rehoming to appropriate facilities with proper space and care but animals are kept in small enclosures for years on end and a large number of these very social animals are kept in solitary confinement. Jameson Humane brags about taking in millions of dollars in donations, where is the money going? Clearly not to the animals. I encourage you to visit in person to see the condition of the animals / environment and where your money is clearly NOT going.
Nearly 40 staff members have left this small organization of less than 15 over the past 3 years. The working conditions are toxic, abusive and staff are prevented from providing proper care for the animals. Before you support this organization with your hard earned money, you may want to read about the treatment of the people and the animals on Glassdoor.com dating back to 2018. There are two common denominators since 2018, the founder and the director. Before you donate, ask them why their organization is so toxic and why animals are still living in poor conditions after millions of dollars have been donated for their care.
Note: The founder of Jameson Humane opened a fancy wine studio last year - Studio 1299a. Hmmm.
