I just randomly had something about Animal Rescue Corps pop up on Facebook and how they needed volunteers after an influx of animals coming in. I wasn't familiar with this organization, but since it was helping animals and my schedule lined up with a few days they needed volunteers I thought perhaps I could help. I filled out the application online, the process was easy and because I was available I was able to go and help the very next day. After a short orientation I learned about what this organization does. I was so grateful to learn that they exist. They animals are from hoarding situations and puppy mills. Animals that need somewhere to go when the law has gotten involved. Normally when I go in a shelter I feel like the animals are "in jail" and it makes me sad and I want to adopt all of them if I could. This is different, even though the animals are in cages, I couldn't be sad, because I knew these animals were in a better place than they came from, that their lives were changing for the better and that they were finally in a place that was helping them through the next steps to finally live the lives they all deserve. Everyone was very friendly and cares about these animals. Organizations like this are so very needed and I am thankful for them. I had a great experience and look forward to the next time I go to volunteer again. Thank you to everyone at Animal Rescue Corps Inc for everything you do.
