This was my first year volunteering as a mentor for 901 Education's Entrepreneurial Program at St. Mary Interparochial School. Mary Grigson, the Head of Instructional Education for 901 Education, is a dynamic and organized leader. She brought the students, teachers and mentors together with the goal of the students learning the fundamentals of design thinking and starting a business. Using the technology already available at the school, the students worked in teams to create Welcome Kits for the residents at the Ronald McDonald House. I was welcomed into the program to share my design experience using the Silhouette cutting machine. I was shown respect by all involved in the program. The Final Showcase was evidence of how much the students learned and how proud they were of their projects.
