Review for Action in Africa Inc., Aspen, CO, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I am a University Scholarship student of Action in Africa currently studying from Mbarara University of Science and technology. My story starts from when I got a secondary school Scholarship from Action in Africa having excelled from my primary school. I joined Central college school still as a Scholarship student. But during our holiday programs we really enjoyed lots of program which helped us keep busy , these program included spelling bee, creative learing, art and craft , dance and drama, among others. These programs brought us together, I personally made friends, I met new people so I networked. These activities kept me busy during my high school holidays rather than staying home idle. Having finished my senior six examinations, I got the chance to be part of the university scholarship of Action in Africa, this was a turning point in my life. I was extremely happy because I knew I had joined the winning team.
While in this program, I learned lots of skills including communication skills, I was a bit shy before but due to the platform given to us to carry on presentations, carry out community mapping, going for market surveys and write reports , this made me a confident person. While at the center, I learned how to use different computer hardware including printers and projectors. I really enjoyed this because since we are in the 21st century, all these skills are useful. I learned how to socialize with the different ages of people and this has also increased my network.
We also helped volunteering in the different program like after school program , the holiday program, the medical out reach program among others.
On a special note, Action in Africa extends medical services to the Nakuwadde community atleast twice a year. I really love taking part in this because I feel like I have virtually saved a life.
While in this program , you really watch people working as a team just to accomplish different tasks, so as the outreach is a success.
I am really proud and glad that I am part of a very hardworking team.
Action in Africa is a real home of joy.
As I continue to be part of Action in Africa family, I am ready to keep learning from each and everyone. Thank you for nurturing us in to important people.
God bless Action in Africa
