Review for Day 1 Bags, Boerne, TX, USA
Growing up I was very much in my head and my world. Instead of getting a babysitter, my mom would go to work and leave me at the house. We didn’t have a TV or anything. And when there’s no one to talk to, you are your own best friend. Alone was my normal. When I was placed in a shelter at 9, I had to talk to other people. It was hard. I decided to get busy and focus on my studies. I knew I could become something other than a daydreamer. I accomplished my dream and I am going to college now. Thank you for being there and taking time to think of what I may need as I leave foster care. I never had a quilt, first aid kit, or $100 gift card... and a card congratulating me. I never knew how many kind people there are in the world. I know you will never meet me but to know the kindness of others means a lot and gives me hope. Thank you - C - Class of 2024.
