Coding can empower anyone to create, better themselves, and have an impact on the world. So we might expect to see universal interest in this skill. The huge gender gap in CS raises the question: How many girls never realized they had the opportunity, the potential, to be a programmer?
By giving girls access and exposure to coding skills, Code Her World shows them that opportunity. Organization members also get the chance to strengthen their own skills through teaching. I'm especially impressed by their emphasis on live, interactive teaching and in-person events. If you want to help girls realize their potential and contribute to a stronger, more equitable CS workforce, consider getting involved with CHW!
