All that it would take is about 30 seconds and you would know that they are doing something special here. The thoughtful letters of appreciation from the troops, the wide range of volunteers (I met 5 Vietnam veterans from all over the Sacramento region), the literal ‘wall-to-wall’ inventory of donated items; it is clear that Scott Raab and his team are doing God’s work at Troopathon!

I have been to volunteer twice already and I am planning to make it a regular thing after being encouraged by a fellow volunteer who has been coming every other Monday for years. Packaging everything from Girl Scout cookies to shaving kits, candy to nuts, jerky, tuna and chips; the most important care item is the love and respect the troops obviously feel and show willfully and freely from their responses on the donor appreciation letters filled out and posted all over the warehouse.

This is paying it forward in a Big Way! Looking forward to sharing in the experience of being a part of it all!
