Review for Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue, Renton, WA, USA
I found my dog online at Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue. It was not my intention to travel across the country to adopt a dog, but I am very glad that I did. This organization was fantastic to work with. It is clear that they care very much about the animals in their care, and they want to be sure that these dogs are going to end up in safe and loving homes.
My dog (Phil Dunphy) was rescued from a slaughter house in South Korea, and transported to Washington State. He had some health issues when he arrived in the US, and ASTR ensured that he received the necessary medical attention, and also fed him the healthiest foods while he was in their care.
Upon my return to the East Coast, I took Phil Dunphy to my vet to get him established as a patient, and was told that this little guy is in great shape. I give ASTR a lot of credit for going above and beyond to restore his health.
We have had Phil Dunphy for a year now, and my little guy is thriving! If one is seriously looking to adopt a pet, I highly recommend Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue.
EDIT: I am unable to post a second review to this site, so I would like to take the opportunity to share that I recently returned from Washington with another dog from ASTR.
A few months ago, we lost our senior Poodle named Ellis. Ellis was adopted 10 years ago, and was a very special little fellow. We wanted to honor his memory by giving another Poodle a permanent home. I noticed one on ASTR’s website called PiDan. He had been fostered by them for over two years. I was surprised he was with ASTR for so long, as he is a very sharp looking guy with silver and blue hair.
As expected, working again with ASTR to adopt little PiDan was a very positive experience. I flew out to Seattle to collect little PiDan and brought him back to Georgia. He is doing great! PiDan and Phil Dunphy are now very close. Those two follow each other around all day long, and love to go out for walks together. PiDan enjoys sitting in the sun, and he is very interested in our local wildlife. No deer or squirrel in our yard escapes his attention!
When I returned from Seattle with PiDan, my wife said “He looks like an Ollie” So that is what we call him now. He is responding well to his new name, and is very much attached to Phil Dunphy, and to our Beagle.
Like many of the dogs in the care of ASTR, Ollie/PiDan came to them from a very sad and unsettling situation. He thrived in their care, and received plenty of love and attention from his foster mom. I brought a very happy and healthy guy back with me from Washington.
Again, I strongly recommend that anyone looking to adopt a dog considers one from Aberdeen Scottish Terrier Rescue. We are very lucky to have little Ollie with us now. Two photos of this handsome fellow are attached.
