The conditions that the dogs in holding are kept in is awful. Their are kennel cards on each kennel that show the lack of enrichment they receive. Including many of the spending almost 24 hours each day in their kennel. After being a part of the veterinary team for over a year ( from 2022 to 2023) there was never a trained behaviorist. As a matter of fact the executive director would often euthanize dogs and blame it on their behavior. Despite the fact that most of the dogs were lucky to see the light of day. After 7 days of little to no interaction, only at that point would they be assessed and the director would make her decision on euthanasia based on how they would react after such confinement. This shelter has a kill rate of over 20% for dogs.
