The Coalition saved my life and allowed my family to have a Christmas. I am currently a single mom who is getting out of a bad situation with my spouse. I reached out to the coalition because I had no food for me and my kids. I no longer had a working phone because mine was disconnected and the bill was too high. I was trying to move into my new place but couldn’t afford to turn the water on. Everything was rough. The case manager helped turn my phone back on, made sure we had water to take a shower, and helped put food on our table. Then she found 2 churches and organizations in my city that bought clothes and gifts for my children and also set up a Christmas tree for us. The priest is also helping us get beds and furniture for our home. We have almost nothing because we had to get out of our situation quickly. I hate remaining anonymous but with our domestic situation I have to be careful. I do plan on giving back to the coalition the second I have an opportunity.
