I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year. The facilitated virtual support group is helpful to me. The facilitator creates a safe, friendly and warm environment within the group, giving people the space to share their stories and express their emotions. She is also good about posting in the chat reliable information to answer members’ questions about cancer. I have also found the website a great resource--providing clear and accurate information about the stages of cancer, treatment options, questions to ask your doctor as you prepare for visit, and more. They also have a robust community discussion forum with hundreds of discussion topics, allowing you to drill down and find others sharing experiences that are similar to your own.
Review for Hope Connections for Cancer Support, Bethesda, MD, USA
I was diagnosed with breast cancer last year and the facilitated bi-weekly support group was helpful to me. Nonie creates a safe, friendly and warm environment within the group, giving people the space to share their stories and express their emotions. Post-surgery I also participated in the gentle yoga which aided in my recovery. Both services were offered in person or virtual. I appreciated the virtual option which made it more convenient for me to participate.
