There aren’t enough words to express my gratitude for this organization. My husband was killed in the line of duty as a undercover detective for Virginia Beach. This organization included his sacrifice as well as other LEOs in their mission, and my oldest son and I were invited to attend a ceremony where we accepted a flag in honor of my husband. The entire experience left my heart full. When grieving, you always feel the loss (every minute of every day you are consciously aware of your loss and your children’s loss-but as days turn into months and years, the sacrifice made by your love one falls into the memories of yesterday for everyone else except those who feel the loss most deeply (the spouse, children, mother, father, siblings). Honor and Remember helps the surviving family by making sure they know their Hero is Never Forgotten. My family feels blessed that my husband was honored by such a selfless organization.
