ITDRC was able to flatten the topography of rural Southeastern Kentucky during the July 22 flood that ravaged our communities. They were able to connect our people with each other and with outside entities that made recovery possible. Through their equipment and expertise of their volunteers, they were able to act as the digital communication backbone of our rural community. They were able to pop up networks in facilities that were unharmed, as well as harmed by the flood to enable our citizens to communicate with needed governmental entities to speed their recovery from this devastating flood. ITDRC members laughed with us and cried with us, but most importantly they wrapped their digital arms around us! Words can’t express the gratitude we have for the volunteers that came and helped us lift our informational burden!!!
