Massive Thanks to Elizabeth Young and Palomacy!!! My experience with birds let alone pigeons began just a few weeks ago with a nest of a newly hatched pigeon. I befriended her (?) calling her Penelope and unknowingly became a pigeon auntie … I was thrilled when she began to fly with her parents… coming home each evening.

One evening however something was very, very wrong! Penelope was stuck and couldn’t get into the pump house that was home. We later learned she had a severely broken leg.

We never planned to adopt a pigeon… but we couldn’t resist helping Penelope.

This is where the Pigeon Community stepped up during our time of need and provided invaluable guidance… I’m talking hours on the phone to help educate me not only about pigeons… but how to help Penelope specifically. You see, Penelope’s leg was beyond repair and had to be amputated.

I would have been lost without the incredibly patient and kind guidance! Words cannot adequately express my heartfelt appreciation.
