Review for Shakespeare & Company, Inc., Lenox, MA, USA
As a lifelong resident of the Berkshires I cannot imagine a year going by without seeing several productions at Shakespeare and Company. From its birth at The Mount to the campus of the former Lenox School for Boys, Shakespeare & Co has revitalized the community. Each production, whether it was in the woods at The Mount, onstage at Founders or Bernstein theatres, outdoors at the Rose, or in local schools, was a masterpiece of entertainment. I am specifically proud of the work they do with troubled teenagers and the juvenile court system. I am a teacher to many of the youths who have had the privilege of working onstage with these incredible actors and directors. Shakespeare & Co gave them pride, purpose, and passion! I cannot say enough good things about this community company!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
I have high school students who have performed with the company as part of the juvenile court system's community service assignment. They all put it at the top of their list for high school experiences because they took such pride in their performances. Judge Paul Perachi, who was my math teacher way back when, worked with S&Co to get this program going...it changed lives of some of my kids for the better!
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
Have a Shakespeare Day and Parade and invite all the local schools and theatre groups to have a great time!
