I've been working behind the scenes with Darice & then CRMI since about 2012 because I so believe in her, in the CRMI mission & in the wild Carter Herd. It's a one-of-a-kind herd that displays the most Spanish-Iberian characteristics than any other wild herd in the U.S. They deserve to be designated a Heritage Herd and to have much of their original historic Bureau of Land Management range in far NE CA legally returned to their use to support a genetically viable herd of at least 200 horses. Getting the word out far & wide & gaining more support nationally is key to their long-term preservation. I appreciate Great Nonprofits for the role they play in this important effort.
