My dad had to quit school at 13 when his father died. His lack of education made providing for the family a lot harder. When my dad passed I was determined to establish some form of scholarship in his honor. When I researched the Carson Scholars program I knew I had found the perfect solution. Dr. Carson and his wife Candy are two of the greatest patriots in America who have established a fund that promotes success with young scholars across all boundaries. I like the concept of a perpetual endowment where the interest on the fund pays the scholarships and it is very well managed. No one is taking huge salaries and the people involved in management are true professionals. If you want to do something to honor someone in your life, this is one of the greatest choices you can make. I truly believe God directed me to this fund and it is blessing many young lives.

After my dad's passing I wanted to establish a scholarship fund in his honor because he never had an opportunity at a good education, having to leave school at 13 when his Dad passed away so he could support my grandmother. I did a lot of research and discovered the Carson Scholars Fund which really addressed all of the goals I had for an endowment. I have been involved in the program for several years and just started an additional endowment in the honor of my late Aunt who's passion was education for 75 years as a Catholic Sister. Ive met Dr Carson and his wife Candy and many of the program administrators. This is an exceptional organization with very little admin costs.. most goes to helping well deserving well vetted candidates. I can't say enough good things about them and highly recommend. Thank God for Dr. Ben Carson and his wife Candy and the folks at Carson Scholars.
