Review for The Haven, Fairhope, AL, USA
I have been a supporter of The Haven since August 2, 2010 when I adopted my first cat baby, my Madison. Born on the streets of downtown Fairhope. I walked into the cat house in back and was amazed by all the kittens & cats! I walked around and there was one kitty that kept following me and practically jumped into my arms, my Madison. She was a Copper eyed, Tortoise shell kitty. Picked her up and immediately knew I had found my kitty.... actually she adopted me. They told me while filling out paperwork that she also had a sister there, originally there were 8 of them. I said no not right now I need to see how Madison does. Little did I know I'd be right back down there adopting her sister 2 weeks later. That's my Emily. These babies have been the lights of my life for 13 years, unfortunately we had to put Madison down 3 days before their 13th birthday this year. She had a heart condition that was inoperable and it was best for her. It broke our hearts, and Emily and I mourned her for weeks. Mike Graham and his staff at The Haven are awesome, I will always support them and their work in the community. I also had the pleasure of working with them on adoption days during my employment at Petco in Daphne. We had 4 little habitats and we adopted out lots of their kitties and older cats. These babies are spoiled rotten while in the employees care, we would buy them treats, toys, love on them and help them find their "furever" homes. We cleaned, feed and made sure their habitats were taken care of when The Haven volunteers or staff were not able to come by. The Haven helped me find the loves of life that helped me get through some very difficult times in my life. I will always be grateful to The Haven for their service to the community. Sincerely, Kelly S Kennedy
