Review for SEBASTIAN RIDING ASSOCIATES INC, Collegeville, PA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

My son took therapeutic horseback riding lessons at SRA for 8 years and I've never met more enthusiastic, dedicated, personally-invested people who work for children and adults with disabilities. The employees and regular volunteers at SRA work so hard and never ask for kudos or acknowledgments. They're a blessing to everyone they meet and help!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

The life of my son. Thanks to the wonderful teachers and administrators my son had opportunities to engage in a physical sport (he no longer needed Physical Therapy after his 1st year) and build confidence by succeeding through hard work. Every year he trained hard for participation in several horse shows. His room is now bedecked with ribbons and silver plates which act as a constant reminder of what he can accomplish through hard work.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

If I could, I would try to find a way to increase their income. Keeping horses is not cheap!

Would you volunteer for this group again?

Definitely

For the time you spent, how much of an impact did you feel your work or activity had?

A lot

Did the organization use your time wisely?

Very Well

Would you recommend this group to a friend?

Definitely

When was your last experience with this nonprofit?

2005

What one change could this group make that would improve your volunteer experience?

Nothing.

Did your volunteer experience have an effect on you? (teaching you a new skill, or introducing new friends, etc.)

I thoroughly loved co-chairing their annual fundraiser. I have since moved out of state so I will not be able to play as great a roll in the future. They're like family to our family! I now have more confidence in my skills in extrovert-ish activities and a re-affirmation that I find working for not-for-profit organizations deeply fulfilling.

How did this volunteer experience make you feel?

Proud and special.

Role:  Volunteer & Weeding and co-chairing of annual gala fundraiser & silent auction.

Review for Cradles to Crayons, Newton, MA, USA

Rating: 5 stars

I've been a volunteer for various non-profits for about 25 years. I know what makes an organization sustainable and I believe Cradles to Crayons has what it takes.

The employees at C2C are extremely friendly and helpful. The directions for helping are simple and clear (a lot of thought has gone into creating and stocking each station). My favorite part, however, is that families can volunteer together and the kids can play an active role, which means it's like Kids for Kids (K4K)!

I'm so thankful to the person who introduced my family to C2C! Keep up the great work!

I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...

Seeing a friend's children helped.

If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...

It's a little difficult to find/park at the location.

Role:  Volunteer & As part of a work outing, I helped sort clothing, put together packages, and clean donations. My family was also able to donate a lot of old clothes and toys which declutters our home!!.
