What more can be said that others haven't? What an outstanding organisastion.
Cradles to Crayons is the most professionally well-run, loving, and organised non profit I have had the pleasure of volunteering for. Their work is impactful and critical for children in our city. I have nothing but praise for their team!
I've volunteered several times at the Philadelphia location with my former employer. The corporate sponsor days are a great way to show up with a huge group of people, tackle some big tasks, and help lots of kids! I love the backpack program every year which supplies kids with a backpack stuffed with school supplies in August before school starts. This year I was able to send a few handmade cards which also get included in each backpack. They also have offsite drop off locations which are posted on their Facebook page for convenient weekend drop offs. (They came to an Old Navy only a few miles from my house on a Saturday and I was able to donate any size small women's clothing to this program instead of a generic donation recipient.) Passionate people and great cause!
I believe that Cradle To Crayons can use every dollar given. They look for ways to maximize the way that they can help children in our communities.
I volunteer here, and collect clothes to donate. The volunteer experience is well-organized and fulfilling, the space is cheerful, the volunteer leaders are upbeat and appreciative, and there is time built in to inform volunteers of how many needy children were served by the work we did that shift. It is easy to see that without our donations and time, children in dire need would not have basic clothing needs met. And that that toys, crafts, and books packed with a week's worth of clothing will give them a much-needed lift and feeling of care and nurturing when they most need it.
Just finished a volunteer shift at Cradles to Crayons... a wonderful and fulfilling experience as always! C2C is so organized and well run, and provides a much needed and valuable service to those most vulnerable and in need, children! Volunteering at C2C is so fun and enjoyable, the time flies by - I wish I could volunteer more often, but so many people want to help out there is a wait list! It is so great to see so many different people come together to work for the common good! Great things happening at the C2C Giving Factory! :)
My husband and I learned about Cradles to Crayons through our daughter. Her family (including 3 children under age 8) volunteer at Cradles to Crayons. Twice when we have visited from outside of MA, we volunteered with them. We especially like that Cradles to Crayons tries to provide the essentials that children need at home and out in the community. The focus of Cradles to Crayons is on children in need between the ages of birth and twelve. The items provided to the children in need are clean and in good condition. Cradles to Crayons is a great organization. I wish there were something like it in the community where we live.
I have been volunteering with Cradles to Crayons for several years and it is an amazing organization. I have also brought in my kids to volunteer many times as well as my daughter's Girl Scout Troop. Cradles to Crayons is a wonderful place for kids and adults to help children in Massachusetts as well as learn more about the needs and how we can keep helping.
I started volunteering with Cradles to Crayons the summer of my sophomore year of high school. Now, I am a junior in college and still volunteering and giving back to this organization. I absolutely 100% back Cradles to Crayon's mission. I believe they are truly one of the best non-profit organizations around. I have been fortunate to be a volunteer, part of the Teen Leadership Team, and also a donor. Whenever I have items to donate, I always bring them to C2C. It's the first place that pops into my head. I am blessed to have had the experience of volunteering many hours in the C2C warehouse. I learn so much every time I visit and volunteer. The staff is wonderful and I can see that everyone genuinely loves what they do!!!
My son and I volunteered for the first time a month ago. It was our first time there and our first time volunteering at all. I didn't know what to expect but it went far beyond whatever I could have imagined. Not only was it inspiring from the moment you stepped in the door, with inspiring phrases on the walls, but throughout the whole process. Every aspect of this experience made you (at least me) feel that I was doing something important for a child. Watching the other volunteers helping, looking at all the clothing and toys being separated and cleaned, watching people shop for specific children, and then at the end rallying us all together to inform us of how many children we helped, really made me feel apart of something bigger than myself. My son enjoyed it as well and wanted to come again. And we did, my husband joining us the seond time. It also touched our hearts when we realized that there were kids who would not get certain items that they needed because there were none donated. This is a wonderul organization, the staff is amazing and I love it from top to bottom! I tell everyone I know about our experience and instagram everytime I go.
Our Company Gardner Resources Consulting volunteered at Cradles to Crayons in December 2011 and we enjoyed it so much that we are going back next December 2012. This organization helps many families in the Boston MA area. The staff are friendly and the layout of the building and donated items was very organized. They truly care.
MANNAM-Boston has been so honored to be able to volunteer at and support Cradles to Crayons. This is one of the kindest, friendliest, and most loving organizations I have ever encountered. Their work is invaluable, and their dedication and passion shows in the amazing service they offer children in need. It is truly humbling and inspirational to volunteer with Cradles to Crayons. I support everything they stand for! Thank you for all that you do!
It only took one 2hr volunteer shift and I was hooked. I have been volunteering regularly now for over a year and I look forward to each trip. The work is hands on, the staff is beyond welcoming, the need is crucial and the results speak for themselves at the end of each day. The "Giving Factory" is one of my favorite places to be and I am often amazed at how many people feel the same way, and work together to make helping over 50,000 children in need a possibility each year.
Cradles to crayons is an amazing organization. My family was looking for a place we could all volunteer together, and C2C has opportunities for even the youngest helpers. Their donation process is very efficient, and their staff is warm extremely engaged. We have had only wonderful experiences at the giving factory!!
I love volunteering with cradles to crayons. C2C makes a tangible difference in the community, and it provides volunteers like myself a way to roll up our sleeves and not merely donate money or advise. Whether sorting through clothing, book, toys, to putting together clothing outfits and "kid packs" containing items to help low-income children thrive, you truly feel like you are making a big difference!
Cradles to Crayons excites me in the way they involve the community to donate new and gently used children's clothes and supplies, rally volunteers to sort and pack them, and get them directly to those children who are most in need through social service agencies. Their mission to make every child feel cared for and supply the materials they need to succeed in school is dear to my heart. I have funneled supplies to donation sites for several years but recently had the opportunity to volunteer a shift at the Brighton Giving Factory. It was motivating to hear about the work they do beforehand, and learn how many children our two hour shift served. They are so well organized and made it so much fun the time flew by. I can't wait to do it again, and bring my friends!
This is a fantastic charity. Many times in the past, I have personally helped people that would not otherwise get the assistance they need. Cradles to Crayons, makes it extremely easy to assist people in need.
Cradles to Crayons is a wonderful non-profit that does so much for needy kids. They make it a fun experience but also point out the ways that are are making a difference for kids. They distribute KidPacks to thousands of kids across the state of Massachusetts who are in need of clothes, books, toys, and more. I got to intern there in the summer of 2012 and it was a wonderful experience. Everyone at C2C is dedicated to the mission and they make it a wonderful place to volunteer!
I've only had positive experiences with Cradles to Crayons. Everyone is enthusiastic, helpful, and happy. They are an organized, thorough, and wonderful organization.
Volunteering at Cradles to Crayons is such a meaningful and rewarding experience. Well organized, fun, and extremely efficient use of time...you leave feeling like you truly made a difference, and that your services and time were highly valued. Having volunteered for a number of years and as a former coordinator of service projects at a variety of nonprofit organizations, I can easily say that C2C is the best place I have had the privilege to volunteer. Additionally, it is an excellent place to bring children (over 5) to expose them to the importance of serving others...it's fun for them AND worthwhile. Can't say enough good things about this organization!
Volunteering with the wonderful people at this charity has been an amazing experience. The daily staff keep the momentum continuous and in a positive and constructive direction. As a former guidance counselor during my younger years I know that the cause presents a number of needs on an ongoing basis. Now that I am a parent I also see how much is involved in parenthood and the needs of families. It was only in the last few years that I have had the opportunity to volunteer with this charity. Having been an act volunteer with many different well supported charities I am overly impressed with the productivity of this group!
I had the pleasure of interning with this organization while in college. While I was there, I got to experience first hand what happens in their 'Giving Factory' on a daily basis. Across MA, there are many families that are (technically) living above the "poverty line" yet still have trouble obtaining daily necessities such as clothing, school supplies, and birthday gifts for their children. C2C works to close that gap. Social workers report to C2C with a list of their family's needed items, and the Volunteers get to shop their way through the aisles of donated items to fill those orders. It feels great to be a part of an organization that is so tangible, as a volunteer you know that those very items you take off the Giving Factory shelves are going to a family with children in need very nearby. Anyone looking to give back to their community should highly consider Cradles to Crayons. They have donation centers across Massachusetts as well as donation programs for kids and adults to participate in (check out their Birthday Star program!). Great organization, great staff members, and a great cause!!! you guys are the best!
I have been involved with charities for the past 4 years, and I must say C2C is outstanding. Their organization is excellent and they really help volunteers see the direct impact just a few hours of their time can mean to the communities they serve.

Hi, my name is Grace and my first experience with Cradles to Crayons was with HOBY (Hugh O'Brian Youth) on an off-site volunteer day. When we arrived at the "Giving Factory" we were greeted and shown around by the other volunteers who worked there regularly. The factory was organized with specific work stations, and many shelves and boxes filled with childen's shoes and books. We were instructed where to begin, which for my group, happened to be the birthday-present wrapping center. Volunteers informed us that when they get in requests for a special birthday present for a boy or girl, they get younger volunteers to decorate the paper, which was then used to wrap gifts. This made me realize just how important it is to make a child feel special and loved on his or her birthday, especially when they already need the basic essentials to grow and learn. I thought this was exceptionally thoughtful of Cradles to Crayons to consider how these memorable days in a child's life should be celebrated. Then, we began working with the order slips, selecting and packing the items a child will actually use. I remember how one of the guys in another group started crying when he was picking out diapers and baby clothes for a family. It was difficult for me to wrap my head around the idea that not only families are living with less than adequate food and clothing, but also that infants - the most vulnerable and easily susceptible to sickness - are presently living with less than they require to grow properly. My experience with Cradles to Crayons opened my eyes to the conditions in which so many are living, and made me reflect on how my involvement could make a difference in someone else's life.
I can't thank Cradles to Crayons enough for the work that they so willingly do. Cradles to Crayons is a pioneer because, they recognize the plight of others and take extraordinary action towards relieving such suffering. Cradles to Crayons is a great organization, and I hope more people take part in their goal of helping needy children.

I have volunteered at C2C twice in the past few months. I have thoroughly enjoyed my experience each time and have referred others to the organization. They are organized, the staff is friendly and the experience is rewarding.

I work for a non-profit in Philadelphia and we use C2C as a resource for our clients. They are an amazing staff and their volunteers are very helpful. The items our clients receive are in very good condition and very appreciated. Our staff even volunteered a couple of hours at the Philadelphia site. We are very grateful for their amazing work. Thanks!!
My Girl Scout troop volunteered cleaning toys and sorting clothing for families. All of the girls enjoyed the work they did and it inspired them to want to do more service projects. The coordinators explained how they were helping many people in their own community and kept it light and (more importantly) motivational instead of depressing. It was very well organized and the jobs the children did were easy and interesting for them.

As a social worker in Philadelphia, C2C was a vital resource to the families that had children who needed clothing and toys. It felt like Christmas each time I would bring a bag of things to a family, and they were so thankful. Unlike other organizations that offer donations and resources to families, C2C allows workers to customize orders to each family, down to the kind of books and toys they like. The items I received for the kids were always right on target. I cannot say enough about them and their value to the families in this area that just need a little help! I also volunteer with them and I feel good seeing the love and care that goes into making each order extra special!

volunteered as a service project...so well organized, friendly staff who completely care about the organization's mission. So glad to have them as part of our community

I organized a visit for my daughters' girl scout troop to volunteer at Cradles to Crayons last year. The girls sorted clothes and cleaned and sorted toys. They all were excited about what they were doing and unanimously said they felt that they had helped other kids like themselves directly by doing the work themselves, making the packages that would actually go to the recipients. It was a wonderful experience for the girls to have a hands on experience. Cradles to Crayons made volunteering meaningful and instilled in the girls a feeling for community service as well as a feeling of having the power and the responsibility to help others.

I've been a volunteer for various non-profits for about 25 years. I know what makes an organization sustainable and I believe Cradles to Crayons has what it takes.
The employees at C2C are extremely friendly and helpful. The directions for helping are simple and clear (a lot of thought has gone into creating and stocking each station). My favorite part, however, is that families can volunteer together and the kids can play an active role, which means it's like Kids for Kids (K4K)!
I'm so thankful to the person who introduced my family to C2C! Keep up the great work!

This is an impressive organization!
My first experience with C2C was through our school, the Shipley School, where I participated in a number of clothing & equipment drives. During that time heard so many positive things about C2C that when I had additional items to donate I decided to visit the drop location myself. The building was clean and well-organized. I was greeted by friendly and dedicated volunteers who helped me unload my car and gave me a tour of the facility. I could see so clearly how their system worked -- items would be collected, sorted and eventually allocated to those who were most in need of them.
During my tour, a group of people from a law firm were volunteering their time that day. They looked to be enjoying themselves and getting a lot accomplished. I plan to take my girls to the facility to volunteer in the future.

Our company chooses several charities a year and encourages employees to choose from the list of organized events. 2010 was the 2nd year that Cradles to Crayons was on the list. All of the volunteers had a very rewarding experience in 2009 (small number of people) and raved about it so much that in 2010 we had 48 people attend the one event; much more than the other events. This is due to the fact that the charity is well run, helps local people and understands how to keep all of the volunteers busy and motivated. We will continue to support Cradles to Crayons in 2011 and beyond.

This is a terrific organization that helps the needs of so many. My students at J.R. Masterman have done clothing fundraisers for them over the years as they reach out to families in need right in our community. We are lucky to have such a group.

I volunteered through my work and found the experience very rewarding. Cradles to Crayons Inc. does their best to fulfill all their requests from the parents, organizations and kids. I would definately volunteer there again.

Cradles to Crayons is a well run organziation that fills a true void in the non-profit world. The organization is very effective and efficient. I suggested my neighbor's daughter have her birthday party there as she was looking for a positive world experience rather than more "stuff." The girls were taught a bit about the C2C mission so that they would understand how their efforts contributed, and then kept busy with meaningful work. They had a great time AND felt like the really did something to benefit others. I also think the program targeted at high school kids over the summer is an excellent idea, teaching kids to care for others and learn to give back, as well as the benefits of volunteering.

Cradles to Crayons is wonderful and very well run organization. My company chose to volunteer our time with them in December 2010 and it was a great experience. The staff was friendly and helpful, and my colleagues enjoyed being able to see the process from start to finish. We organized toys, sorted through clothing and created packages for kids in need. It was on overall amazing experience and we are looking forward to volunteering with them again.

This is a well run and organized group. The Brownie Girl Scout Troop that I lead was able to assist in creating craft kits for kids in need. They felt that they really contributed and it was fun for them to do.

This organization has a fantastic mission and those that I have worked with have provided me with a great experience. From sorting donations, to folding clothes, cleaning toys and decorating birthday cards--there is so much effort and care that goes into creating a single pack for a single child. I think the personal touches that help develop each pack make C2C an unrivaled nonprofit to be a part of. The employees are great with feedback, very accessible, and an organized group of individuals. This organization is great for volunteers of all ages.

Great management of volunteer help. They have the process down to a science. They are flexible with many available times to help and can get you up to speed and contributing faster than most organizations I have worked with. Very friendly staff.

I am also a worker at a non profit and Cradle to Crayons has made it easier for our company to provide clothes, books for our clients. The clothes, toys, and books are always in great condition and they even provide a beutifully wrapped birthday gift for a child turning a year the month of the donation. Cradles has never missed in getting the brightest smiles from my clients and their children.
As an employee of a non profit social service agency we utilize C2C to provide a variety of items for our consumers. The items in each bag range from clothing to educational toys. C2C provides everyday necessities for low income families that other wise could not afford them. Many of the staff at our agency has also volunteered at the Conshohocken facility and the experience was so amazing that we plan to go back.
Review from Guidestar
Recently, a group of my co-workers volunteered our time at the Conshohocken location. I was very impressed with the set-up. They had us working various stations throughout the day so that we could appreciate the whole process. A lot of times when I make donations (other than monetary), I wonder if my donations are being put to good use. With this organization, I know they are and it has a direct impact to the immediate area. As a result of my experience that day, I will always consider them on the top of my list when donating my children's things.

Cradles to Crayons has helped many foster children in our organization. Many times children come into care with very little and Cradles to Crayons provides them clothing, shoes, books, toys and arts and crafts. For our babies they have provided diapers, wipes, shampoo and other baby items. They have also provided birthday gifts for the children. We appreciate the many kindnesses they have shown to our children.

My agency is a distribution partner for Cradles To Crayons. I work in a transitional housing program, and use this fabulous service frequently as I help families settle into their new homes. They frequently come with little to nothing, and this is a great benefit to them. The fact that each order comes packed for each child is wonderful; it provides a more individualized experience for people who have often become nameless or faceless in the "system". As I delivered an order to a family with 3 chlldren and they excitedly opened their packages, one of them exclaimed, "It's like Christmas!".

Our firm held our Community Service Day at the West Conshochocken location and the entire experience was a huge hit! The staff made coordinating the day with our large group a breeze. The facility was very impressive and the work that C2C does for the community is simply amazing and inspiring. Everyone that volunteered that day had a wonderful time and we left at the end of the day thankful for the opportunity to join in the good work that C2C does on a daily basis. We hope to have our annual community service day with this organization because it was such a wonderful experience.

The people at Cradles to Crayons are super helpful with arranging a time to volunteer and they are just really great people to be around. The organization is also a wonderful thing, because all children deserve clothes, books, and toys.

Our company has been involved in many volunteering projects but this one was very rewarding to me on a personal level. Cradles to Crayons is doing such a great job connecting with the community and providing for the needs of children in a very direct, first person way. I felt rewarded in knowing the efforts, our team of volunteers put in, will be directly benifiting the children in our local communities. I will be volunteering again in the future. Children are our future and Cradles to Crayons is making their future better!

The church I attend holds a Yard Sale for Kids' Stuff twice a year. During the sale we encourage people to buy items and donate them at our C2C Collection Station. In order to prepare to educate the congregation about C2C, I took our videographer to the warehouse. We got an in-depth look at the whole process, from inspecting and sorting donations to the preparation of bags of goods to go out the door. We were impressed. So was our congregation. We received a truckload of donations and are convinced that every item wound up in the hands of someone who needed that item.

Great organization that helps the children of the area; very flexible with accepting volunteers and trying to match volunteers' times with the times they have available. Very friendly staff who care about what they're doing.

I have been to Cradles to Crayons to volunteer with my nieces girl scouts troop, my sister, mom and aunts, my kids and on my own. It is a place for people of all ages and backgrounds to give back to those who might be less fortunate in the community. I could not think of a better place to donate my time and items to.

My wife invited me to join her in helping to fill orders prior to Christmas. Little did I know that this experience would create a unique and fullfilling experience. Participating in Cradles to Crayons taught me about the needs that existed in my backyard, the generosity of people and the team work that went into serving the needs of our community. I intend to continue to help in the future.

Cradles to Crayons Inc. is a fantastic organization and great resource for serving needy families. I have volunteered with Cradles to Crayons Inc., and I have accessed its service with two non-profits that I work with, Carson Valley Children's Aid and X-Offenders for Community Empowerment. With X-Offendes for Community Empowerment, I was able to provide school bags and supplies for youth entering school in the fall, and toys for youth around Christmas time. With Carson Valley Children's Aid, I was able to provide winter coats to school age youth we serve in our Truancy and After School programs. Cradles to Crayons Inc. is a valuable resource to youth serving agencies in the city of Philadelphia.

I donated all of my baby items to Cradles to Crayons. They were wonderful to deal with and I'm so happy to be able to help those in my community. It's a wonderful treasure to pass on perfectly good items to those in need, instead of sending them to the landfill. Just think of all of the kids being helped every year!

When I first learned about Cradles to Crayons through a friend, I immediately liked the idea of sharing items instead of paying for them. On my first trip to the drop off site, I was invited in for a tour of the facility in Conshohocken. It was well organized and very clean, They have a very thoughtful approach to providing age appropriate toys, school supplies, books and clothing to children in need. From donor to recipient, the guide showed me the process of how contributions directly help children. I now collect items from my neighbors and make monthly trips to Cradles to Crayons. They do an excellent job!

I had the privilege to organize a volunteer day for work. We were able to collect items that were in high demand and also were able to get local business to donate gift cards to purchase items that needed to be new( bottles, underwear etc) Thanks to Target, Walmart and the donations from our group we were able to supply many children with things that they need the most. This organization is amazing. They provide so many needy children with the essentials that they otherwise might not have. I don't think people realize how many children are in need, and C2C is an organization that makes it easy, and fun to help these children. I am looking forward to organizing our even at C2C again.

I feel that C2C mission & how the staff/volunteers goes about fullify that mission is amazing. The care that is given to every donated item, to make sure the item is safe, clean & age appropriate is extrodinary. The child receives good quality clothing, toys with all their parts, books & school supplies to expand their minds. C2C looks to help children in many facets of their lives. I have volunteered at a variety of different organizations but I found my time at C2C to be most rewarding & productive. Thank you for the opportunity.

At my company in Blue Bell, we are fortunate to be able spend a day each month volunteering in our area. That is how I was introduced to C2C. From the moment we arrived to the time we left, I was truly amazed by the magnitude, compassion and efficency of this organization.
This was one of the most rewarding days spent in a long time. Helping children, especially durning the harsh winter months, was so rewarding.
A very big thank you to all the C2C volunteers and donors!

Cradles to Crayons is a wonderful organization. They have provided me with countless supplies to help the families I work with. The most usefull items I have recieved an continue to request are Pack n' Plays, carseats, safety gates aand other baby supplies. It is so important for children to have safe equipment and times have been especially rough financially the last couple years. The staff is always friendly when I have picked up orders and the equipment is always in propper working order, safe and clean.
I also appreciate the environmental impact of this program. It is wonderfull to recycle and reduce the ammount of equipment that ends up in landfills, or ships over seas while helping vulnerable children at the same time. Win, win situation!!!

My family has had many different introductions to C2C, and they have all been amazing. My daughters have volunteered through school community service events, my family has volunteered through my husband's company-wide service day, and I've volunteered with friends. My youngest daughter has held her last two birthdays at the Conshohocken location where the girls donated new socks and underwear instead of birthday gifts and then put together packs. They had so much fun putting together outfits for kids in need that they were reluctant to leave after two hours. We just cleaned out our closets and toy cupboard and were able to donate 11 garbage bags and boxes of gently used clothing. It is a wonderful feeling to know that your clothing and toys will be going to kids in need. My girls are always keen on cleaning, ironing and folding the clothes for donations to make sure they are high enough quality for C2C.

CRC is an inspiration to us all. We have donated items for years, however, recently my family had the opportunity to volunteer. It was such a fun and heartwarming experience for us all. Our whole Philly office dedicates time to volunteering each year. In 2010, during Winter, we dedicated a day at Cradles to Crayons. These guys are doing great things, and we all had a blast helping out. Knowing that kids were going to receive the winter coats, hats, gloves, boots, shoes, books, toys, etc made it especially worth it.

My family has volunteered many times at Cradles to Crayons and we regularly donate clothes and toys. We always have a great time there, creating packages of clothes and cleaning and piecing together toys. My little sister has hosted her birthday party there, she enjoys it so much. I have come back with friends and with my school as well. It is a fun experience and a great opportunity for people of all ages to help children. The staff is cheerful and informative. The only thing I wish were improved is the climate control within the building, which has a tendency to reflect the outside temperature a bit too much.

As president of a branch of a non-profit organization that has as part of its mission community outreach to our youth especially the inner city often disadvantaged youth. Perhaps one of the most rewarding outreach we have experienced as a relatively new branch was when we given warm winter coats during the winter which we distributed to our preteen and teens whom we have adopted. When we went to give out the coats, several of the girls were wearing sweatshirts, and hoodies on what was a particularly cold dayl. When we announced what we were going to give them they jumped up and down with glee but when we told them the name in the label they were ecstatic since according to one of their volunteers many of them long to wear a name brand article of clothing to fit in at school. The donation satisfied the need for a winter coat which several of them did not own but it also satisfied a social need that increased their self-esteem. For our members it was an extremely gratifying outreach thanks to the generous, unique Cradles to Crayons Inc. organization.

I live outside of Philadelphia and wanted to donate some items that my children were no longer using. I have donated to other organizations but have just never been clear how my donations have been used. With Cradles to Crayons there has Nefertiti been a question in my mind wheee my donation is going. Everyone at the donation center was well informed, enthusiastic to be there, and helpful. I know that everything I donate is needed and appreciated.

My Son's 4th grade class had the opportunity to volunteer at Cradles to Crayons Inc, this year. What a great experience, this was the first time they were able to see what happens once donations are made to an organization. We will be back again to lend a helping hand!!!

I am a volunteer for a grade school in West Philadelphia, where 75% of the students are living below the federal poverty level. We met with Cradles to Crayons and the amazing and supportive staff provided us with information and resources to assist our families in need. From top to bottom, the staff is kind, compassionate and courteous. The process is extremely efficient. We enter the needs of the students on the C2C web site and our needs are quickly met. The systematic way that C2C works makes picking up the orders a breeze. The students at the school will also be able to give back by volunteering their time at Cradles to Crayons. Thank you Cradles to Crayons for supporting our students and boosting the self esteem.

I came across this charity because my family participated in the Disney "Give A Day, Get A Day" program. I am a volunteer at our local school, so I felt very storngly about finding a charity that helped children. They were in the middle of a warehouse move when I first contacted them, but they were right on top of things. They responded to multiple emails in a timely and friendly fashion. They were a pleasure to work with.

The Harmonious Volunteer Center is a Distribution Partner organization and through the CRC we have been able to provide assistance to over 400 dis-advantaged, deprived and under-served families having a need for the gifts provided for the children. Our combined services to the general population has encouraged other organizations to join with CRC to expand the program. We are pleased with the personnel, their attitudes, performance and professionalism which reflects well on the organization.

With 3 children of our own we wanted to donate their gently used toys and clothing to other children in need. After finding C2C and participating in one of their family time to give events we knew this was the greatest organization for kids out there. Now whenever we can fill the SUV we make the hour drive and donate to C2C! One of our childs youth groups even held a coat/winter clothing drive to help! Kids helping kids!!!

I led a group to collect new underwwear and socks for the children this organization helps. When I dropped the items off, they were more than grateful for the donations. They also gave me a tour of the facility and explained how the organization works. I was amazed at how much stuff they had considering that it was shortly after the holidays. but they told me that it really wasn't as much stuff as it looked like due to the large number of children they serve! They told me as soon as the items were sorted, they would be going out to those who needed them. The list of children who are in need is made by the professionals who work with them. Cradles to Crayons puts together packets of clothing that contain everything a child would need for one week- plus warm outerwear and a toy or book. They told me that the hardest items to come are often socks and underwear since they need to be new. They also have sections for baby items and they also have a Birthday Club section where items that are new or nearly new can be chosen for a child's birthday. They seem to be a well-organized, and very caring organization. I was extremmely impressed by everyone I met there and with their enthusiasm and dedication

Our family has participated the last 2 years in their annual Family Giving Opportunity. We attend on a Saturday afternoon in November and for our donation we get to participate in sorting and packaging items that are to be given out. There is live music and lunch and it is a tremendous event!! All 7 of us love it and look forward to it!!

My experience with Cradles to Crayons was nothing but positive. I volunteered with other members of the Penn Law School community. Although we had a large group, the staff at Cradles to Crayons was able to get us working almost immediately. Collectively, we sorted a decent number of clothes, toys, books, etc. The staff was very helpful and cordial.

I learned about Cradles to Crayons from my mother - she works for a local company who had volunteered at the Conshohocken facility. As a mom of two young children who have outgrown various clothing and supplies, I was glad to know of a local donation option.
When I arrived to drop some items off, the reception by the staff could not have been more warm or appreciative. They helped me fill out a donation form for my records and thanked me so graciously. I asked some questions about what items they accept, how they distribute things, etc., and the staff members were informative and professional.
By the time I'd come home, I already had an email thanking me for my donation and providing follow-up information - so prompt and efficient!
It feels great to know that there is such a wonderful service that provides such needed and concrete help to children and families in the area. I will definitely be donating again, and am considering volunteering.

My family volunteered with Cradles to Crayons, during the Disney Give a Day, Get a Day promotion, and had a great experience. The staff were enthusiastic and we wre able to get a great deal done, in a few hours. Even my younger child, who was 8, was able to be productive, making labels and sorting books. Subsequently, we donated items collected through my older daughter's Girl Scout troop. Cradles to Crayons has a great local reputation as a place where kids and teens can volunteer.

I loved volunteering at cradles to crayons. It was fun work, especially sorting clothes. It was a great experience because the work we did was needed. The hardest part was checking the toys, but in general it was pretty easy.
I helped out when my local state representative, Ric Taylor, organized a Saturday morning day of volunteering. I was thrilled to find out what a great service Cradles to Crayons is providing to our community. I felt that I was really making a difference.

I wanted to find a worthy organization where I could introduce my younger children to volunteer work. Cradles to Crayons was perfect! For 2 1/2 hours, my 6 and 7 year olds and myself helped clean toys, count puzzle pieces and pack up books. It was work they could do and work they cared about. And best of all - it was all for those in need! We will definitely volunteer again.

I spent an afternoon filling backpacks with school supplies. It was a great event. The staff at C2C has an enthusiasm that was contagious and they kept encouraging the volunteers to do more and more, but in a nice, funny way. Everyone responded and the event was a big success. I will do many more events with C2C!

At first, I was just looking for something to enrich my resume. I found out C2C and felt interested. I have thoroughly enjoy the experience of working at the Conshohocken branch of Cradles to Crayons...
It is especially satifying to me since the organization is geared toward helping children and it gives me the opportunity of once again shopping for baby clothes/supplies since my two grandsons are now 12 and 15... Also, having an outlet (with which I have first hand experience) to which to donate the toys and games that my two have outgrown is extremely gratifying.
Most importantly, however, I believe that the personnel and other volunteers at Cradles to Crayons are totally committed to the mission of helping children.

Cradles to Crayons is an outstanding organization that has provided much needed supplies for our students with children. We have received donations of clothing, books, toys, equiptment and most importantly, coats. Many of our students children did not have a coat, hat or gloves at the start of winter. C2C made it possible for many of our students children to be dressed properly and warm this winter. They have a truly dedicated staff who are comitted to making a difference in the lives of children. They are doing an amazing job!

The company I work for has contributed to Cradles to Crayone for the past several years during the December holiday season. It has been an honor to help this great organization that is filling a HUGE need in our metropolitan area -- especially with the recent downturn of the economy. Even though our business has felt an economic pinch (as all have), all our staff consider it of utmost importance to help children in need. C2C are angels on earth for what they are doing!

I represent a non-profit agency that has benefited from the items that are donated to Cradles to Crayons. This past winter we were hit with a number of snow and ice storms that left the city feeling cold and tired. We were able to pick up a donation of children's coats and jackets to distribute to our young clients during this time and it made a tremendous diffence in their lives. The smiles on the faces of these children were priceless. Thank you forimproving the lives of these children and for helping to keep them warm during these cold winter months.

I have organized at least five donation drives for C2C in the last couple years. The business model is brialliant for a non-profit. They make it so
easy to run a drive (turn key), the premise of donating used/new items from newborn to teen back to your local community verses dumping
some where and never knowing where they will end up. And their nitch
specific drives for getting kids ready for school (backpack with supplies)
and cold weather wear (coats/hat/gloves) and newborn too. I know a need is being met for those whom need it most. THANK YOU.

I can't say enough about the impact that C2C has on our surrounding communities. Rarely do you see a relatively new organization like this continue to increase its outreach the way C2C has over their first 3+ years. The staff and management team are excellent and this organization is sure to be a fixture in the Delaware Valley for many years to come.

I am the Vice-President of our Elementary Schools Parent-Teacher Club and we were looking for a community service project that all of the children and staff could be a part of and also have a sense of how important their donations would be. We chose to collect new and gently used children's books. We were looking for a local charity to donate these books so the chidren would know that their donation stayed local. Through a pamphlet I found at a ocal community Center, I knew C2C was they place. Our students collected well over 2000 books and the staff at C2C were most aprreciative. They were more than accomodating to my many requests on how to run such a donation drive because it was something I never tried before and felt a little overwhelmed with the response. The C2C staff put my worries at ease and assured me that the books would not go unwanted. When we delivered the books, the entire staff had to help unload 2 trucks of books. They encouraged us to take a tour and my heart went out to what they were doing there. They have an incredible job and the hearts to prove it. My next project for community service will definitly include C2C

This is a fantastic organization that helps local children in need of basic supplies. They are great at using both new and used donated items to make tailored packs of clothing, books, school supplies, toys for each needy child. They really need more donations of new and gently used clothing, especially for boys! The staff who organize the volunteers are really great and they have a great system of making the volunteers see the whole extent of what they do for the local community and actually make you feel like you really make a difference! It is a fabulous place to volunteer and time well spent.

As a teacher who works with middle school students, I am continually impressed by the ways in which Cradles to Crayons makes volunteering fun and meaningful. Never for a moment do my 7th grade students forget that they are working to get things ready for the immediate use of needy families. They enjoy meeting the C2C staff, and they enjoy knowing that their volunteer work will have an impact right away.
I also write as a parent of a Cradles to Crayons summer intern and member of the young leadership council. During the summer, my high school aged son trained with Joe Spause in a true service learning program, and he came home each day, inspired to think about developing a better infrastructure for the delivery of clothes, supplies and food to needy families. C2C sparked a kind of idealism that carries into our family life and into his first thoughts about a future career.
I volunteered with my three school-aged children. It is a great opportunity for kids to see the full cycle of giving -- we sorted clothes that came in as donations and then packed orders for specific children. My 3rd grade daughter was especially motivated to choose the coat, hat and gloves that she thought another 3rd grade girl would really like. It was a terrific afternoon for all of us!

C2C is one of the most innovative direct-impact organizations I have ever seen. We have held book-drives at my child's birthday party for them, numerous collections at my synagogue, and I have volunteered in their warehouse on a few occasions. The piece that I find most compelling about C2C is their attention to the detail of "what the child likes, is into, desires" as opposed to just giving anything. Kid likes green shirts, they're going to get green shirts. Etc.
I had never been to Cradles to Crayons before, so my family and I decided to volunteer through our synagogue for Martin Luther Kind Day. We were so surprised by the size of the operation. There were so many voluteers and so much to do. Each area was divided into different sections of activity before they even give anything away. It's such a process. It ran quite smoothly and at the end of the day we were thrilled to have been there and be apart of such an amazing opportunity. We will make this a family tradition every MLK day!

I have been both a donor and a volunteer. When I volunteered before Christmas I was surprised at the way the C2C organization worked. Shocked that as we fill packs for kids in need that there weren't enough jackets in every size to go around, not enough toys, books, and puzzles to satisfy every age group. C2C does wonderful work and it was amazing the amount of donations that were leaving the building and going to needy families. I commend them for the work they perform.

Last time I volunteered at C2C I asked my mom to join me. I knew it would be hard work and was nervous that the time in the factory would affect her asthma, I told her to take it easy and reiterated that any work she could handle would be appreciated, I didn't want her to overexert herself. Not only did she work hard the entire time we volunteered, she also spent the drivehome (approx 1 hr) saying what a fantastic time she had. While volunteering, we were assigned to pack clothes for girls size 11/12, we were both saddened by the difficulty of this task due to the sheer lack of donations. After that experiance my mom decided that she would focus her future donations on the needs of older children. Last week I got a text from my aunt asking if she could give me a bag of clothes to donate to C2C. One night of volunteering is touching so many lives. My mom and I both recognize the good that C2C does for the community, it's a wonderful charity and any time spent there is rewarding beyond expectations. We look forward to our next volunteer opportunity.

Great opportunity to help the most vulnerable members of our community. Cradles to Crayons makes it easy to get involved and has a huge impact on the quality of life of the people they touch. One of my favorite things about working with Cradles to Crayons is that they encourage family participation in the volunteer events. I am always grateful to have a day to spend with my sons doing something that makes a difference.

One of the amazing things about Cradles to Crayons (CTC) is their outreach and volunteer involvement. Of course, the main things is the number of needy served.
So when you combine their management team, donors, and volunteer network with their mission of helping those children from cradles to crayons you get a fantastic organization doing a fantastic thing!
I have volunteered at Cradles to Crayons for a friend's 40th birthday! What a fabulous opportunity to serve others in honor of a friend's birthday. I then brought my husband and 2 children to volunteer on a day off from school. My 6-year was so happy to be putting together packages for children in our area that are in need of some help. This organization is well run... the people who work there were great, too! We will certainly go back and help there again!

I have worked with many nonprofit organizations in the past, and I have never been as impressed as I am with Cradles to Crayons. They are very well-run, and the amount of donations they distribute is staggering.
The items they can't use are donated to the Salvation Army, who distributes them around the world. They are doing a great service not only to our surrounding communities, but for people in other cities and countries around the world.
This is a wonderful organization!

This is by far the best charity that I have ever volunteered for! What I love about it is that you get to see the entire C2C process when you are there. It starts with donations coming in and being sorted, then clothing packs are put together, then entire orders are pulled together consisting of clothing, toys, books, coats, shoes, art supplies - what a needy child can use to keep him or her comfortable for one week! Our work team has done this together twice and had a fantastic team-building experience. My husband and I have also volunteered here and really enjoyed it. If you want a fulfilling volunteer experience - this is it. You will find it an eye-opener to learn how many needy children there are just in the Philadelphia area that C2C is helping!

We recently took part in a stationery drive for Cradles to Crayons. The organization sent detailed information on what was needed and how to package the materials. They provided information on what materials were needed and for what age children.
They made the project both easy and fun for my family to complete!
The only difficulty we had was delivering the materials since they are tucked away in the hills of Conshohocken.

Without this information, I would feel a little less connected to my community's needs and a great resource available to it.

I volunteered at C2C more than a few times. I was always impressed by how helpful the staff is and how well they treated returning volunteers. A number of times I was asked to help a large group navigate the bundles of clothes and the process of bundling and finding matching items. It made me feel very much part of the total experience.
I have also seen the staff celebrate frequent volunteers with a special celebration - cake and all!
On numerous occasions, I observed parents and their children working throught the processes together. It was very heartwarming to see the value of volunteerism being shared.

C2C has been such an amazing resource for the families we serve! From the most basic necessities like warm clothes in the winter and diapers for infants to the toys and books that light up a child's face when they see their bag, each "order" is a blessing and so truly appredciated. At my internship to equip and empower teen parents with the skills and resources they need, this organization is a significant help. Clients are able to clothe their children, provide birthday gifts, books and even items such as walkers.
It was a pleasure to be part of this program when we volunteered an afternoon to sort winter coats, hats, scarves and mittens. The staff really care about supplying children and families with the things they need, as well as their dignity.
I would love to see this program's provisional capabilities grow to meet their passion and abilities.

It's very rewarding because you get to have hands-on experience starting with intake/sorting of incoming donated items all the way to packing a bag of specific needed things for a particular child. You can honestly see the good that they do and turnover of items is very fast. I highly recommend this volunteer opportunity for people of all ages.

I was happy to find C2C. My daughter is now 7, and being the first grandchild on both sides we had accumulated a ton of clothes and toys over the years. I was happy to find a place that was local and supported our community. In addition, the staff at C2C was very helpful and friendly.

One of my daughter's birthdays is in September, and she loves Cradles to Crayons so much that we always collect school supplies in lieu of presents to donate to them! Why does she love them? Well, believe it or not, it's because when we volunteer there, she gets to actually DO stuff: she cleans the toys, sorts the books, puts clothes in bags....Things that make her feel like she's doing something good! Given the volume of donations that come in, I'm always most impressed by how organized and clean the place is, and how cheerful the staff is! It's one of our family's favorite charities!

I volunteered at Cradles to Crayons at their Horsham office. I work for Bank of America and our office building was on the same site. Many of my co-workers routinely volunteer with this great organization. They do an awesome job helping kids in need in the Philadelphia area. I donate a portion of my United Way payroll deduction to Cradles to Crayons. The children benefit and that matters.

The C2C staff at the Conshy location were awesome! Can't wait to see you guys soon and help out with a great cause that directly impacts our surrounding community.

When deciding that we were done having children, I was heartbroken to part with all our baby stuff. What made it easier was knowing that it would go to another Mom who would use it and appreciate it like I did. Cradles to Crayons sincerely seemed to appreciate my donation, and I know that someone in need will value it too. Thanks for being there and helping those in need:-)

This was the first year I volunteered with C2C - I did this with my company. We volunteer a different orgainzation every year but for me I will keep coming back to C2C. What an amazing orgainzation. I thought that the volunteering part was so well orgainized, we spent time at each different area - sorting clothes, packaging weeks worth of clothes, filling orders. It gave everyone a great sense of accomplishment and an even better sense of how their are so many people in need . We didn't even come close to filling all the orders. Since then I have been back 2 times to donate things.

I have been involved with the Cradles to Crayon for some time both as a Board member and a volunteer. They are a well run organization and have done an outstanding job managing their phenomenal growth and serving their client needs. Their model of recycling and giving back is sustainable and easy to support. It's rare to come across an organization that will allow all members of the family to get involved from a volunteer perspective. Cradles to Crayons allows for meaningful, hands-on volunteering. It's a great organization and one with which I'm proud to be involved.

This organization makes the best use of its resources in every way, including its volunteers. From the way the physical space is organized, to the methodology used to create custom packages for each child, and even the "flow" of volunteers are all mapped-out for maximum efficiency. I was extremely impressed by this group and plan to come back often to work because the results go directly to help the children.

My employer sponsored a community volunteer day and our office chose Cradles to Crayons. I was already extremely impressed with the goals of this organization, but was blown away by their level of organization and their focus on the children we were ultimately helping. The group of us were seamlessly trained and shown the multiples levels involved in reaching the ultimate goal, providing a child with the items in their wish list. A wish list of what most of us consider basic items... but for that child... a coat to kim her warm, shoes, pants, tops and yes, even a toy and books. I was honored to have been allowed to assist in this process and hope to continue to help.
$220 feeds hundreds of Americans for one week and it is tax deductible...I know this charity and highly recommend it...Adam and team not only feeds the homeless but gives them a new start in life by providing them with minimum papers so that they can get a job...This guy is an angel!

My family started volunteering at Cradles to Crayons when their location was in Horsham. Now it's farther away in Conshohocken, but we make the time to get there as often as we can. We love the people there and the organization itself. We feel great about the work we do there and we also feel that our comments and suggestions for improvements are always taken seriously and sometimes implemented. It's wonderful for people of all ages!

I've been volunteering at Cradles 2 Crayons for a few years now. It is a wonderful organization with a dedicated and welcoming staff. Every time I go in, I feel like a vital part of the organization. The staff work right along side the volunteers encouraging suggestions and gently guiding us along the way. It's a great place to volunteer with my children who enjoy the variety of activites from sorting clothes to cleaning toys to making wrapping paper. It never feels like volunteering; I think I get more out of it.

I first volunteered through Advanta - a work group volunteered on a Saturday at the C2C Horsham, PA facility. I went back on my own with my 15-year-old neighbor a few times. We had such fun putting outfits together for clothing bags for young girls. The staff was really nice and the facility was well-organized. The facility has since moved to Conshohocken.

I recently had the opportunity to volunteer at Cradles 2 Crayons and I was very happy with my experience. I was looking to give my time to a worthy non-profit that seemed to have a far reaching influence and I think that's exactly what C2C is.
I was one of about 50 or more volunteers that day who gave their time and many of those volunteers were under the age of 18. I was impressed by their concern and hard work.
The people who run the volunteer program are kind, patient and thankful for the help.
I tried to keep in mind the child who would eventually get whatever item I was packing or checking. Many lovely items are donated and I believe the children who receive these packages must be at least somewhat happier for receiving them.

I volunteered at C2C as part of a team from work. During our time at C2C we helped to organize new donations, clean/repair toys and fill orders. It truly was wonderful to see an organization that helps families in need with a wide range of items and services. C2C is a very valuable asset to the community and people they help. I can not wait for another opportunity to return and help C2C continue on their mission to help families in need.

Cradles is a wonderful organization. I have volunteered with my children, with friends, with a girlscout troop and just made donations of goods. They provide such a great opportunity for children to have a hands on experience of caring for other children. For my children to understand that those few things they place in an order are all that someone their age might have to go back to school, helps them to be compassionate, appreciative, and grateful. They can see that though they are small, they can help others.
Cradles serves a huge need in a large area. We are thankful to have them!

We volunteer as a family at C2C. My 9 and 12 year old children enjoy going because they can make a hands-on contribution. The giving keeps on going after we leave. If there were items that were not in stock to fill orders, my children ask that we pick up those items when we're out. This effort lasts much longer than the few hours that we're there.

My family began volunteering at C2C 3.5 years ago. I had searched and searched to find a place that woudl allow my young children to work alongside my teens. How wonderful to find C2C, where my whole family could work together to help others in need. We volunteer once a month with a group of homeschooling students I organize, and, oftentimes in the summer, we are there every week. Thank you, C2C, for the important work you do helping kids in need in our communities. Keep up the good work!

I was introduced to this organization through friends in my beach house. A few weeks ago an email was sent out by a friend via facebook, that they were in need of additional volunteers to get winter clothes out to those kids in need. I had a day off during the week and decided to volunteer for two hours. It was a wonderful and rewarding experience! I worked in a team with a local volunteer group sorting clothes and packing bundles. Since that day, I have contacted my family and friends about making donations to this group and even offered to pick up donations from them. C2C fills a great need in local communities. I am happy to be a part of it!

Cradles to Crayons runs like a fine tuned machine. Their warehouse is impressively organized. They put extreme care into sorting and cleaning the goods donated. The packages and birthday presents are put together with lots of thought and care. And from the amount of volunteers they have it is clear that many other people feel as highly as I do about this organization!

I am a social worker for an early intervention program in the Philadelphia suburbs. I have put in several orders for needy families for clothes, baby equipment, toys and care needs for children. They are always helpful, prompt and very nice to work with. This is a program that I appreciate so much that I bring items to donate and plan to volunteer with my children one day. Cradles to Crayons was very organized, and their system seems to work very well. I would like to volunteer more often, especially after such a great experience. I would even like to recruit some of my friends and family to do so as well.

Although I had worked with this organization before, last night was my first time volunteering with them directly. I immediately noticed the staff's energy and good intentions. They were really concerned that the kids were receiving the best clothes; the staff person there told us to try to "coordinate outfits; make these kids stylish", and I could sense that he and the other staff members never lost sight of the palpable results of their work, which gave them the energy to work hard. Also, they rotated everyone after a while so that no one was doing the same task for extended periods of time, which increased everyone's efficiency. Overall, I think Cradles to Crayons is a fantastic organization and a wonderful volunteer experience.

I am a volunteer at Cradles To Crayons. We started volunteering about a year ago and have invited and brought several friends! There are many opportunities for people of all ages to help. Our favorite area is "shopping" for the children. Non-profit organizations submit requests for donations for individual children. Volunteers "shop" through the donated items and bag the items for distribution. It is really very sad when a child has a need and that particular item is not available because C2C hasn't recieved donations of that particular item. They take donations of items for infants up through teen and always need more! If you can't come to help, please consider donating items! I would highly recommend C2C, my family of children ages 8-18 looks forward to each time we can go!

When you see all the requests for clothing and then you realize that all the requests cannot be met, your heart goes out to this organization....I've only been volunteering for a couple of years but what a wonderful feeling when you know you're truly helping children that are so in need of basic necessities. We've even started a collection drive within our volunteer group to provide socks and underwear (which have to be new) to Cradles to Crayons in addition to donating our time.
Cradles to Crayons provides a wonderful and very needed service.

I found C2C online when I was looking for a reputable organization to donate my children's clothing to. The Conshocken, PA drop-off wasn't far from my home and was easy to get to. When I pulled up it couldn't have been easier to drop-off my boxes and bags to the young woman who assisted me in the loading area. As I looked around while unloading my items I was incredibly impressed with the vast number of items in the warehouse, but also how organized everything appeared to be. The yound woman had me fill out a receipt and then I was on my way. I signed up to be on the C2C email list and then signed up on Facebook. I really enjoy seeing the C2C updates on my Facebook newsfeed and look forward to personally volunteering, as well as donating more in the future. They do great work for deserving children.

My school has been participating in C2C for the past 2 years. We start by collecting and sorting here at school. On MLK Day, we take a caravan with our donations to the C2C warehouse. This year we had the opportunity to have a tour and se C2C in action. It was a truly moving experience. We hope to have more collections during the year. We are also hopeful to bring a group of students down next year to particapte on site. I was personally touched having worked with students who may have been the recipients of some of the donations. I am now on the look out for things to buy for our next donation. It was a great experience for all those involved.

I recently located to the Philadelphia area and had been a volunteer in Boston for many years. I've been able to a local sorority involved in volunteering at this great organization. It was an eye opener for many of the young women. On one visit, we were charged with creating a clothing pack for an 11 year old girl. The sorority sister innocently asked, "She only gets ONE coat and ONE pair of shoes?" Each sorority sister donated a jacket from their own closet the following week. I would say it's been an eye opener for them!

I had the opportunity to work as a volunteer for Cradles to Crayons over a one year period while taking some time off from work. This organization was incredible, providing much needed clothes, toys and supplies to mothers and children in need. The process worked so smoothly from the e-mail requests to fullfillment and pick up. The care with which the volunteers packed the orders was a reflection of the energy and caring provided by the staff. Respect and concern for the recipients was always the most important consideration. New toys were always on hand for birthday presents, the clothing was screened multiple times to ensure quality and equipment was cleaned and inspected - all to make sure that when a request was delivered the recipient could feel good about it. As a volunteer, the gratification was almost instant. You saw the requests come in, be filled and delivered to the requesting organizations.

This summer I was a member of the Youth Leadership Council at Cradles to Crayons. Every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday over the summer we volunteered at the warehouse organizing, making KidPacks, and leading volunteers or took a fieldtrip to see how other non-profit organizations. I really enjoyed volunteering at the warehouse because I felt like I was really making a difference. I saw how important Cradles to Crayons was to the recipiets of the KidPacks when we went on the fieldtrips each week. The other non-profit organizations we visited often were connected to the children C2C provides KidPacks to. Without C2C, these children wouldn't have many of the items necessary to be safe, warm , and ready to learn. I am so honored to have gotten the chance to volunteer with such a fantastic, helpful organization.

I've been to Cradles to Crayons a few times, and every time I leave smiling. Whether I sorted clothes or packaged KidPacks, I felt as though I was making a difference in a fellow child's life. This past Tuesday night, I was packing up KidPacks, and one girl requested a jumprope for DoubleDutch. I found one in the toys bin! Another girl requested books, and I found one of my favorites (Chasing Vermeer) in the book bin. I hope she likes it as much as I did! Cradles to Crayons is an amazing organization with a purpose that is one of the most important around: giving kids clothes and supplies to learn. I love volunteering at Cradles to Crayons, and it is a gratifying way to help fellow kids.

I was looking for a way to get my 9 year old in giving back to the community. Many organizations require their volunteers to be 14 or 16 years old. I was so happy to find this organization since we constantly have clothing and toys to donate that has been outgrown. This gave my daughter the opportunity to see where our donations go and to feel good about doing something for those who are not as fortunate as we are. She enjoyed her evening there sorting clothing and putting together bags for children that she cannot wait to go again. It is because this is such a friendly, caring group of people doing great work for kids in need!

We love to volunteer at C2C as a family!! My husband and I were so excited to find an opportunity for our elementary-aged girls to volunteer with us, helping other children in need. The Tuesday evening volunteer times fit our busy schedule. Our girls love helping! We have to drag them out the door at the end of the night! Volunteering at C2C really opens their eyes to the needs of other children, gives us a great bonding experience as a family and makes us even more grateful for our blessings. We now make it a point to volunteer at least once a season! The girls even coordinated a school wide clothing and toy drive for C2C in December.

I started volunteering at Cradles when they were still in their old cramped facility. With the move to the new facilities about a year ago, we have been able to help many more people.
I am a non-traditional full-timre college student. I usually volunteer once during the week and whatever special events I can. This semester, I arranged my class schedule specifically so I would have time during the week to volunteer at Cradles.
I believe extremely highly in the work that Cradles does, I know the impact the organization has on the local community and its needy residents. C2C has many opportunities to help - from sorting donations, to cleaning donated toys to fulfilling orders for the community partners.
No matter your talent or time available, Cradles makes every volunteer welcome. Every staff member goes out of their way to thank you sincerely for your time and help.
The only thing about C2C's success is that we need additional volunteers. The winter weather this year has not made this easier.

Anyone looking to do hands-on work that is fullfilling for both adults and children, should consider Cradles to Crayons a terrific find. Specific tasks are broken down by the glad-to-be-working-here staff. Each one of us felt our work was valuable to the whole. There was ample work for us to do and it was varied. The best part is filling a parcel full of needed items for a particular child, and thinking of them as you do it. Joy-filled! And the organization is very organized!

Every parent of young children eventually has TONS of stuff to pass along or give away. My high-school daughter and I had a wonderful day going through lots of clothing, etc., in fine condition, then delivering it all to C2C. I had a great time there. Even though it was my first time at this warehouse I had no trouble following the system. I really liked shopping for the kids. I liked when my friends and I got to pick out the birthday present for the kids. I could help a lot even though I am only 8.

I have volunteered with Cradles to Crayons in the Conshohocken warehouse location. I, along with members of my church have gone together; the most wonderful part is we've been able to include our children. Children so often aren't allowed, I suppose for insurance reasons, so this is a terrific opportunity for them, especially as they know they're helping other kids.
We arrive and are oriented to the warehouse, and what our duties will be for that particular day. We'eve done the packaging of orders for the clients. We have all enjoyed this activity, and the kids also have enjoyed making birthday cards and wrapping a new gift if it's the child's birthday.
It's also a great place to make donations, which we've always done.
I'd highly recommend it to ANYONE, but particularly to families with children, looking for a worthy organization to help.
In addition I think, albeit I am not disabled myself, that it is a good opportunity for those with physical disabilities, as the warehouse is on a level surface and accessible.

They make it super easy to help out, which is great. Everything is well organized for building packages for the kids. I was given a personal but quick walk through & got started building packages immediately. I went alone but it was really nice to see parents with their children - so fun & easy a kid can do it! kids helping kids is a great thing :)

My kids and I have gone to C2C tovolunteer and it has been such a rewarding experience in every way. The people that work there are so kind and appreciative of any help and extremely kid friendly. My kids really felt like they were contributing and making an impact and they had fun doing it. They tested toys to make sure they worked or had all their pieces. They organized books. I was especially impressed with how well run the organization is run. I can't think of one thing they should change. It is a great place!

Although I have only gottne to C2C a few times, it made an impact! My children really get to get hands on with the giving process, which is something they always remember. Cradles works hard to provide those who need quality items, not simply "hand-me-downs." EXCELLENT opportunity for younger children, teens, and adults alike to get involved!

I've been volunteering with the Philadelphia C2C for over almost 2 years. It is a wonderful organization that helps so many children and families. The staff members are fantastic and very appreciative of the volunteers.
Review from Guidestar
I have been involved with C2C since its inception in Philadelphia and have only gained appreciation and enthusiasm for this great organization. One of the things I love the most is that C2C by definition brings communities together. In providing the valuable service of delivering essential items (clothes, school supplies, books, etc) to low-income and homeless children C2C creates community collaborations - volunteers from every source imaginable (families, corporations, schools, faith-based orgs, etc.) accomplish much of the work and partnerships with social service agencies enable distribution of the products to the children. C2C had a deep and measurable impact from the day it opened its doors; everyone wins by supporting and working with Cradles to Crayons.
I volunteered at "Cradles to Crayons"and found it to be the most uplifting experience. We get up and go through our normal routine everyday and sometimes don't realize how much others truly need our help. Being able to volunteer was an eye opening experience and I am gratful for having been involved.

My Sunday school class volunteered time at C2C. It was an eye opening experience for the students. They had a blast testing and cleaning toys but they really got a lot from the opportunity to fill clothing orders. Both the boys and girls took their time to coordinate outfits imagining themselves as the recipients. The went home with a greater appreciation for their family's ability to provide for them and stronger empathy for those who are less fortunate.

Cradle to Crayons is a fantastic organization and I am happy to volunteer for this program.

We are also a non profit organization who serves a large community and those who reside in it have encountered many circumstances that have effected them financially economically and emotionally. Cradles to Crayons has done more then provided us with season appropriate clothing, children s shoes, great books, educational games, items for newborns to toddlers and coats for the winter but they have aided us in being able to give all of this in exceptional condition. With the help of this organization we are able to relieve the stress and worry by supplying the needy with necessities with no strings attached. With our position in our community, our hearts to help and the proper resources, we can ultimately reverse the harsh effects of the economic struggles and begin to restore.

I discovered Cradles to Crayons as a volunteer opportunity when Disney was offering the "Give a Day, Get a Disney Day" promotion. As a mother, supporting a charity that directly improves the lives of children in my immediate area is important to me. It is also important for me to have my children understand what it is to help others and that there are children just like them, who don't have warm clothes to wear or toys to play with. To this point, instead of receiving gifts for her 4th birthday, my daughter asked for donations for Cradles to Crayons. She was delighted to drop off a car full of items ranging from infant car seats to boys and girls clothing. The Cradles to Crayons Team explained to my daughter in language she could understand, exactly who would be receiving her many donations. We took a photo of my daughter in front of a Cradles to Crayons banner surrounded by her “birthday gifts.”

I've seen the work Cradle to Crayons have done and find it touching that they've helped so many children. I wish i could have volunteered with them when i had a chance. Its great the things they've done; provided kids with school supplies, clothing and volunteers work with the kids just the make their day. I personally hope to soon be one of those volunteers and help those kids too.

My daughter brought her friends to the Horsham location to celebrate her 16th birthday by volunteering their efforts to this wonderful cause. The experience was very rewarding to all the girls who came. They enjoyed the fact that they were having fun helping others in need. They spent the day making kid bundles of clothing, sorting through books and toys, followed by a mini party in the conference room. We're sad that the location has moved to Norristown, which makes it difficult for us to volunteer, but we wish the staff great success in their venture. This is a well run organization and a wonderful opportunity for "regular folk" to help meet an important need in the community.

As a Preschool Education Center in Norristown, Pa, we serve mostly low income families. Cradles to Crayons Inc. has allowed us to help some of these families with essentials such as clothing, back packs and car seats. It is a priviledge to act as one of their distributors in the Norristown Area.

With my wife and kids of 10 and 15 we have been coming to the Philadelphia location of Cradles to Crayons for years now. The work they do for kids in need is heart-warming, and their facility is so well-organized that the amount work a crew of volunteers can accomplish in a few short hours is amazing. We always leave with a happy and satisfied feeling, anxiously awaiting the next possibility to volunteer.

Volunteering with C2C has been a unique experience that our entire family has shared together. It is difficult to find an organization that allows young children to really take part in the process. Our elementary aged kids are welcome and encouraged to volunteer with us at C2C. Their time at C2C permits them to see the next stage in the donation process; and allowing them to experience firsthand all of the work that needs to be done to simply get donations such as their old toys or clothing to those in need, has strengthened their desire to help. The staff at C2C are incredible, and make this a positive experience for everyone.

Recently we had a company organized volunteer day at C2C. First, they have made getting involved with the organization a win/win for all. We felt like we were able to make an immediate impact and the organization makes itself so accessible. I think what struck me the most was how much care this organization takes in thinking about the customers they are serving. They are respond to the immediate needs of shelters within a wide radius, providing age and season appropriate toys and clothing on demand. This is a great organization!

Recently I volunteered at Cradle to Crayons with several collegues. I was so completely impressed by the operation and the staff. The warehouse and process by which they pull together packs for individual children is so organized. With that, I felt as though the time we spent there was well utilized and that we were able to really assist those who run this organization by getting work done. The staff was very nice and enthusiastic. They designed our time there in a way that gave us exposure to all aspects of how Cradles to Crayons functions and told us about the children they serve. We went through games and puzzles, to ensure they had all their pieces, and then sorted them according to age bracket. Then we made clothing packets for boys and girls of varying ages. Then lastly, we fulfilled requests for specific children. It was a great experience. Cradles to Crayons does amazing work. I feel passionate about volunteering again and our group was talking about a drive to collect clothing to donate to this organization so they can continue on their mission.

I have given to CTC for the past few years as this is a fabulous way to help LOCAL children in dire need of essentials. I first became acquainted with CTC when the youth group from my church volunteered there. I heard what a fabulous charity this was and decided that it needed to be a charity that I gave to. Thank you so much for doing so much good in the community!

As a volunteer, I moved clothes and organized clothes as well as created "care packages" for kids in need. Theses packages included clothes, games, and books that were sorted by age and gender. I know the kids will love the new stuff they get and I had fun helping out! I'll be sure to do it again soon!

Instead of exchanging Christmas gifts with my sisters this year, we decided to spend the money on clothing for children serviced by C2C. It was fun shopping and even better dropping it off at C2C. A volunteer cheerfully greeted us and thanked us for the donation. By the next day, I had an email expressing their appreciation. It was a very good experience that we will repeat again and again.

I volunteered at Cradles to Crayons with my family over the Christmas break. It was a wonderful experience to do something for others together as a family. It was amazing to think we could be helping so many people and it was an overall fun experience. We got a very efficient assembly line going while sorting clothes :). The workers at Cradles to Crayons were very helpful in giving us a task to complete, making the hours we spent there feel very productive and worthwhile. I really admire this organization and my experience made me want to work with Cradles to Crayons on a regular basis.

Volunteering at Cradles to Crayons was a wonderful experience that I was able to share with my children. We all volunteered for an afternoon together. It was so moving to see both all of the generosity of donations and the hard work put into the distribution of the donations. I plan to go back and volunteer in the near future. I's a great charity!
I volunteered with my employer last year. It was such a powerful and touching experience knowing how many children we were helping just in the short amount of time we were there. I have been back several times since and have even brought my children along. C2C is a wonderful organization!

I ran a clothing drive as part of the Disney Give a Day program. During the learning process, I worked with a few individuals at C2C that were always available to explain the processes and answer my questions. When I dropped off my donations and saw their new warehouse and I realized that if the warehouse had to be this large, the need must be much larger. The experience was enjoyable to me since inception. The staff was wonderful and I even received a follow up thank you which has never occurred with any other non-religious, non-profit organizations that I have donated to. C2C has become my first choice for children's donations and I recommend them to friends and family when anyone is doing closet cleanouts and school shopping.

I chaperoned a Brownie Troop on Sat. 2/5 at the Cradles to Crayons Factory and my/our experience was wonderful. The girls and the leaders/parents started out by seeing first hand exactly what Cradles to Crayons does, and what is provided to the children in need. We then began our volunteering by sorting through bags of clothes-separating them into size, gender and tops/bottoms. The factory is so well organized this was simple even for 7 and 8 year old girls to do. Then we went to the toy section and the girls were given a new task. Dressing Barbies and putting a couple together along with a few accessories. They then put them into a bag and they were ready to go to a needy child. What a fun way to learn about giving and helping others who don't have so much! The grown ups worked on the toys for children ages 2 and under-cleaning them and replacing batteries as needed. After a short snack break, we were split into two groups. One group cleaned shoes/sneakers and the other group gathered gloves, hats and scarves (that had previously been organized by yet another group of volunteers) into a bag and labeled them for size and gender.
All in all, I found Cradles to Crayons was a place that was well organized, clean and bustling with people eager and happy to help others. I am so glad that I took my daughter there, and I plan on taking my older daughter there soon, In fact, she is interested in working on her Silver Award for Girl Scouts through volunteering at Cradles to Crayons.
Thank you for all you do for those in need.

I volunteered at Cradles to Crayons through school and it was a wonderful experience. They had us sorting clothes and books that would be distributed to children in need. It was so much fun and really an experience that I will remember. The work that Cradles to Crayons does is wonderful because of how many children they help. It was a great honor to help an organization that does all of this. What a wonderful organization.

I recently volunteered at Cradles to Crayons for the 2nd time with my children. It is a great organization and extremely organized and well run. Their warehouse is huge and full of donations to be sorted and packaged per specific requests for children's items from local organizations representing the needy in the area. The instruction given by the staff was informative and we were able to get to work quickly. The donations are precisely sorted by categories and sizes and ready to be packed up and sent to children in need. The staff was friendly and knowledgeable, and their dedication to this cause was admirable. We will definitely be back to volunteer again!

I have volunteered on a number of occasions with a group of my friends from our church. C2C is the best organized non profit I have ever seen... We all agreed with this. Our work group of 10 was privileged to spend one day volunteering at cradles to crayons. Our experience was very fulfilling, imagine that we were giving but we were the ones receiving. We were greeted promptly upon arrival by Brian who gave us a concise uderstanding of what we could expect and what was expected of us. Brian did an amazing job of organizing us into work groups. It was a great joy to be working withj team members on a totally different kind of task. It was so rewarding to see the work we'd done, backpacks, school supplies organized. Brian broke up our tasks so that each group experienced the diversity of the work done by the Cradles to Crayons group. In summary, the work done here is very organized and effiicient, providing underprivilged children with quality items. I will tell everyone I know about our great experience with Cradles to crayons and recommend they donate items to the cause. I am grateful that I had the opportunity to volunteer at Cradles to Crayons

Cradles to Crayons in Conshocken, PA is a relaxed and, at the same time, energized place to go and feel good about helping children. The staff is organized and clear in directing volunteers, but also flexible about hours and tasks you can do. I especially like making clothing bags for the children and coordinating outfits. Brian and the rest of the staff are welcome to groups and single volunteers. I've met great people when I've volunteered by myself. Thanks C2C for the rewarding experience!

I really enjoyed volunteering at Cradle to Crayons. I volunteered with 5 other family members and the youngest being a 16 year old. The people were great and the organization has a great purpose. We were the last to leave the warehouse that night with 2 others and the staff and we didnt think twice about it. There was no rush to leave because we enjoyed helping. Best of all. My 16 year old nephew came up to me at the end and said he wanted to come back and bring back some toys that he had been holding on to for years now. He said I think its time to give them away and they can give it to some little boy. I was so proud of him. He enjoyed it and we plan to go back!

My parents, sisters and I volunteered at C2C for the 2010 holidays. I knew what we would be doing based of what my mom told us (she's volunteered a few times for work) but it was still nothing I've ever expierenced before. The people working were helpful and real nice. The space was huge. The only downside of our time there was that we waited a while for our group to get started and it felt like it took some of the little time we had there away.

I went to C2C for an Episcopal Academy day of service and was extremely impressed by their level of organization and the amount of great work being accomplished. They really strive to provide the basics that every child should have, and they bundle it so nicely so that it's all together in a package. We were instructed to match items carefully and to only use the items that looked nice and new. It was good to see that such thought went into how the children and parents would feel about their donations.

I volunteered for Martin Luther King's Day of Service through my company's Volunteer Match program. It was my first time at the Cradle's to Crayons site. It was a wonderful experience because they had everything organized...from sorting clothes and books to picking out the items needed (age specific and gender specific) for the children. Everyone was cheerful and helpful with one loving purpose in mind, helping less fortunate children. When I was getting the bags of clothes, toys and books for a child, I said a little prayer before sending it off to the proper bin for pick up. It breaks my heart to know a child is in need of just the simple basics. I was there all day but the time flew and I felt I needed to do more when it was time to go. In the future I will get others to donate to this cause and I will try to have my church participate in the tasks needed there, because it is such a worthy cause.

C2C has heart and soul. The experience reinforces that it is not about each of us as individuals, but all of us as a whole...united for a common goal. It is the "behind-the-scenes" approach that makes life a little more bearable for those struggling on the homefront. It is a Making a Difference reality and an opportunity for all. C2C has a heartbeat and a genuine love for all it does and for everyone it touches. It is a concept that welcomes all ages to share and contribute what they can whether it be time or material contributions. C2C gives inspiration and hope and for me stands for Compassion 2 Children. The entire organization runs well and is organized and structured so output from volunteers is productive.

Our Health Safety and Performance team spent a Day volunteering at Cradles to Crayons in Conshohocken.
During the course of the day the team put together 37 stylish outfit packs, inspected and sorted at least 40 toys and completed 30 orders for individual children? This directly allowed Cradles to Crayons serve at least 77 children. 500 backpacks and 75 boxes of school supplies were organized for their upcoming Backpack-A-Thon. The goal of this event is to pack 10,000 backpacks with basic school supplies for underserved children who will soon be returning to school.
Our team was overwhelmed by the welcoming, helpful support we received from the staff of Cradles to Crayons. We are all spreading the word about donations of used clothing, toys, books etc. Our day volunteering as a team created a memorable bond with each other, and the Delaware Valley Community.

I am an administrator at a local public school and we are fortunate to be a recipient of the donations from C2C to assist our young teenage student parents. As a token of our appreciation I have had the pleasure of volunteering at C2C several times in the last 6 months along with co-workers as well as my niece & nephew. It is now becoming a family tradition to volunteer at C2C. It is a great experience to help an organization that does so much in our community and specifically with our students. The C2C staff is respectful, wonderful and enthusiastic about the work they do. The volunteering process is easy and the staff is always there to guide the young and mature volunteers.

We found Cradles to Crayons through my husbands company. They volunteered for the day and he was really impressed with the organization. It helps such a wide range of ages for children and they go above and beyond thinking about the needs of the children. My sons are 6 and 3 and they gather up their toys that they don't play with anymore and we drive over there and donate them. It is a nice feeling to know that we have a place like this close to home that is making a difference and we are looking forward to volunteering there as well. I have told many friends and family about CtoC and will contine to spread the word. MaryJo Greco

I first went to Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia with my GlaxoSmithKline work group as part of a volunteering day. I was instantly impressed by the amount of donations received at the site, as well as the organization of the different items (clothes, toys, shoes, books, etc) at the site. In addition, everyone at the site was so friendly and easy to work with. I left that day feeling like I had actually done something worthwhile, and it was a great feeling that I was able to help out. I wanted to find out more ways to help out such a great organization.
After moving closer to the site in Conshohocken, I learned about the Young Friends of Cradles to Crayons. I knew that this was my opportunity to get more involved, and I have now been a part of the group for ~3 months. My roommates and I attend the volunteering sessions each month, and have attended other events to raise money for the organization. Knowing that my time is going towards keeping kids warm and making them smile is probably my favorite part of being involved with Cradles to Crayons. I think that Cradles to Crayons is a truly amazing organization that is run well and I am very proud to say that I volunteer for Cradles to Crayons.

My business group spent a day recently volunteering at Cradles to Crayons in Conshohocken, PA. Firstly, we were impressed with the organization and set up of the 'Giving Factory'. We were allowed to work on various stages of the giving process, from packaging school supplies to sorting and folding clothing, to filling orders for needy children. This is an amazing organization which allows volunteers to have a hands-on experience by helping children in our community who are in need. Thus far, my child & I have done anything from clothing quality checks, cleaning/repairing toys, sorting, or putting together the end 'kit' for an individual child. As a single parent, one reason C2C got my attention aside from the cause, is that children are able to be just as involved in the process. Since I work full time, we can only participate in the evening volunteer nights, but my child asks me every Monday, 'are we going to C2C tomorrow?' with such excitement! And I look forward to our 2n/d & 4th Tuesday evenings just as much! It's a wonderful opportunity not only for families, but social service groups, adult social groups, school organizations & even corporate events! If you work in the area, consider spending your lunch hour volunteering with some coworkers! The staff is welcoming & encouraging. We can't wait until our next volunteer night!

I work at a provider agency that regularly orders "Kids Packs", clothes, coats and baby supplies from C2C for our clients in need. Having C2C in our area has made our job of finding clothing for children in need so much easier. We know we can always rely on C2C to provide gently used, fashionable clothing to our clients and they usually throw in some age appropriate toys as well. Our clients love receiving the clothes that are always very much needed. Parents have reduced stress by being able to provide for their children. I can't say enough about how great C2C has been for our community!

I was able to do this with my 7 year old son which made the concept of helping kids who have less than us more tangible for him. I look forward to volunteering again with my whole family and donating items that my son outgrows to a worthy cause.
