Review for Rosemary Farm Sanctuary Inc., South Kortright, NY, USA
I found Rosemary Farm on Facebook. The first rescue story I read involved two colts saved from slaughter. Both were covered, inches upon inches, with ticks and in very poor health. So much so, one was too ill to survive. The second, Princess Yanaha, is thriving at Rosemary Farm.
This non-profit also provides valuable equine education to so many who want to help, but never knew how or why equine rescue is necessary. Their experiences saving wild mustangs has opened the eyes of Americans who now know how the Bureau of Land Management treats these sentient beings.
Rosemary Farm’s Nemo and Ella also come to mind. Nemo was a miniature donkey starving and damaged. Surgery and a prothesis gifted a longer life where he enjoyed friends and freedom. He shared his joy with us and the sorrow of his passing.
Miss Ella! The 9 month Percheron was dumped at auction because of her dropped fetlocks. She continues enjoying life at Rosemary Farm and continues to receive the love and care she needs to be a happy member of the herd. All you need to do is visit the Rosemary Farm Facebook page to see photos of more than 100 equines saved from death happily enjoying the time they have at this beautiful, kind, and caring rescue.
