When my wife and I was looking for a friend for our Mini Lop, Sweet Pea, we knew we wanted to adopt. I had been following Bunny Buddies for a while so I applied and contacted Bunny Buddies about another rabbit at the time. It turns out the other bunny had been matched with a new home but they introduced me to Nibbles instead and invited us to bring Sweet Pea to an adoption event to see how Sweet Pea and Nibbles take to each other in an initial meeting. It was a good start so we was able to take Nibbles home and slowly start trying to bond them over several weeks.
It was our first time ever bonding rabbits and Bunny Buddies was extremely helpful with tips and encouragement, as well as inviting us to the next event to evaluate the bonding, assist, and coach us. I was ready to give up a few times, and Bunny Buddies kept the door open to match us up with a different rabbit if things didn't work out. But eventually there was a breakthrough and from that moment on they've been inseparable.
A year and a half later and they are truly a pair. Nibbles is the boss, but he is nearly always with her and is her lookout guard. They are both free roam house rabbits, but Nibbles loves his morning or evening supervised backyard outings.
