I started volunteering with Adopt a Boxer Rescue (AABR) 10 years ago. One of my close friends supported AABR on Facebook and shared heartwarming stories of rescuing abused, neglected and very sick dogs. AABR was never willing to turn away the hardest of struggling dogs. They had so much grit and determination- I loved their “together we can do this attitude”. I decided that my very loved senior boxer could share our home with a very scared stray dog named Birk who was HW positive. Birk didn’t even know how to be a dog . He was too afraid to do anything. After many weeks he finally started to play with a toy football. His photo is after all of his weeks of HW treatment with + 10 pounds of extra weight added. This boy was saved from near death. Helping him started a journey of many more fosters (even a foster fail). We have always felt supported with all our foster dogs with this top notch rescue. They do everything right by the dogs rescued /full vetting and medical care to bring theses dogs back to their best health and life.
