This is a fantastic organization! I have fostered 3 puppy mill mommas for them. They r caring and supportive and do their due diligence in finding homes for the dogs. They go to unbelievable lengths in order to help these poor pups. They work tirelessly and travel all around to secure freedom for endangered animals, and to provide the foster pawrents with total support. I cannot imagine how many dogs’ lives they have saved! I am currently unable to foster but cannot wait to be able to again, and look forward to my team!
Absolutely great organization. I’m an adopter who became a volunteer after learning more about the abuses these poor dogs suffer. AABR volunteers are truly dedicated and work tirelessly to rescue boxers from horrific situations find their forever homes. AABR’s devotion to providing veterinary care, evaluating the unique needs of every boxer, and the screening and due diligence it gives to finding adoptive homes I believe is unrivaled in the rescue community.
As a two time adopter through AABR - we can't say enough wonderful things about AABR!! The village of volunteers who save the dogs, fundraising, home visits, etc. is impressive. We will always be a supporter and have a place in our hearts and home for AABR!!!
AABR was fantastic with finding our family the perfect fit. They are very thorough to ensure dogs go to the best possible home for the dog. We will continue to adopt from AABR.
Two years ago I reached out to Adopt A Boxer Rescue to add a fur baby to our family after we lost our baby girl Boo. I cannot say enough about the passion this organization has about rescuing dogs and ensuring that every dog is placed in the best home possible. We rescued Boulder, who was a 6 month old street dog from Turkey. Boulder is the sweetest man, who continues to thrive knowing that he has the best life since he encountered that first volunteer with AABR. Thank you so much to AABR for all that you do to make sure all these pups go to the best homes. I will always continue to support and volunteer for this amazing organization!
Such an amazing rescue! Really dedicated to finding amazing homes and taking in some very challenging cases. They are extremely caring and compassionate!
I simply can not say enough good things about them. We have our second Rescue Boxer from them. Their adoption process was smooth, seamless and thorough. They care so much about these fur babies and take all the necessary steps to ensure they are going to loving homes. We were impressed how much all volunteers we met love the breed from the first to review my application, to the coordinator, home visit and foster mom! I highly recommend Adopt a Boxer Rescue
AABR worked hard to place the right dog in our home. They patiently waited until the right time to let us adopt our girl!
I've been involved with Adopt A Boxer Rescue for over 10 years. I adopted a dog with them, Eli, and had such a positive experience I decided to become a volunteer as well. My volunteering has me doing everything from performing home visits for prospective adopters to sewing quilts for our annual auction to posting GoFund Me requests.
But the most rewarding part of volunteering is fostering. I have fostered over 20 Amish puppy mill moms. These are the mother dogs who produce litter after litter to make their owners money but they live in squalor with no human kindness or veterinary care - until they no longer produce profitable litters. Adopt A Boxer Rescue saves these dogs that would otherwise be "discarded" and places them in foster homes. The moms I have fostered came to me broken, scared, unhealthy and in pain. They were afraid of me, my dogs, my home and basic creature comforts. Most have never slept with softness or knew the security of food.
Adopt A Boxer Rescue not only saves these dogs but gives them a second chance on life. The dogs I fostered all were adopted to incredible families and went on to an amazing lives. Fostering is a rewarding, although challenging, journey. Adopt A Boxer Rescue goes above and beyond for the dogs and also to support and assist their volunteer network. I've attached before and after pictures of a mill mom I fostered to visually document what this organization achieves every day.
I started volunteering with Adopt a Boxer Rescue (AABR) 10 years ago. One of my close friends supported AABR on Facebook and shared heartwarming stories of rescuing abused, neglected and very sick dogs. AABR was never willing to turn away the hardest of struggling dogs. They had so much grit and determination- I loved their “together we can do this attitude”. I decided that my very loved senior boxer could share our home with a very scared stray dog named Birk who was HW positive. Birk didn’t even know how to be a dog . He was too afraid to do anything. After many weeks he finally started to play with a toy football. His photo is after all of his weeks of HW treatment with + 10 pounds of extra weight added. This boy was saved from near death. Helping him started a journey of many more fosters (even a foster fail). We have always felt supported with all our foster dogs with this top notch rescue. They do everything right by the dogs rescued /full vetting and medical care to bring theses dogs back to their best health and life.
I have been a volunteer for Adopt A Boxer Rescue for 3.5 yrs and have been an Adopter of AABR for 7 yrs. We tend to adopt "seniors" because they're the least popular on their website. We love how devoted AABR is to saving boxers from all over the globe. It doesn't matter their size, age or condition. AABR tries desperately to save them all. I can't thank the team enough for the countless "mill moms" fosters and the 3 seniors that we've adopted over the past 7 yrs. Keep up the great work to save these pups.
I have been working with Adopt a Boxer Rescue since 2006. The amount of love that they put into each and every boxer is incredible. Everything that a rescue boxer needs, whether its medical care, spay/neuter, good healthy food, and cuddles and love, the rescue provides without a second thought. They work tirelessly to find amazing adopters for each lucky boxer!!
If you are a dog lover in general or a boxer lover specifically, AABR is for you. They go above and beyond for the dogs in their care, from providing the best medical care to finding the perfect home for each individual dog. As a volunteer, they support my efforts and are always available to answer a question or to provide necessary supplies. AABR is a top notch organization that I am proud to be a part of.
Unfortunately this organization is plagued with angry people that fail to do what's right for these amazing animals. We tried to adopt a beautiful dog that had been brought back multiple times. We offered to pay for any travel and time even for them to do a site visit in order to help. Only to be belittled and talked down to publicly on social media because we lived outside their service area.
For a non-profit that has over half a million dollars in the bank it is curious that they could be so rude and demeaning and still be able to raise funds at the rate they do. I would hope that they see this constructive criticism for what it is and start to retrain their staff and volunteers. I hate to see these animals struggle because of someone's power trip.
3rd time adopter with Adopt A Boxer Rescue! They are an amazing organization run by boxer loving volunteers who do not get paid for what they do. They save so many lives and work hard to find the perfect fit for each dog. It takes money, time, and dedication to do what they do! True angels who drop everything when there is a dog in need. They ensure each dog they rescue receives quality vet care and neccessary treatments. They take the time to review applications and homes to make sure their rescues have a good chance at a great life. Have patience because finding the right dog for your family can take time. It is not only what is best for you but what is best for that dog as well! The dogs come first in this organization. I am honored to adopt from them and give our sweet boxer babies an amazing life that they very much deserve. You rock AABR!
After our beloved Boxer passed away suddenly, we submitted an application to AABR and within a week had our vet reference and personal references checked-out and good to go. It has now been 10 weeks and we are still waiting on a home visit to complete the approval process. We have reached out to the rescue many times and have received minimal communication back. The communication we have received back has been very demeaning and unhelpful, and now no one will respond to emails. We inquired about volunteering and fostering and have had no response. In the meantime we have adopted a wonderful Boxer from another rescue. I highly recommend avoiding AABR as they do not seem truly committed to saving dogs and placing them in loving homes. This is a terribly managed rescue, so don’t get your hopes up!
Do you have an close friend that you don't get to see often but yet know that no matter what this friend will come to your rescue no matter what? Well, AABR is like that. I am an occasional volunteer and a Boxer lover. I fostered couple of dogs in the past and and have adopted our beautiful Brooke in 2006. AABR is extremely dedicated to make sure that every dog that comes across has excellent care, latest treatment options and best foster parents possible. The amount of support and dedication is truly incredible. I read a review that states that the application became unanswered. Well, it took AABR 4 month to approve us to adopt. I believe it is a good sign. Yes, there are a lot of dogs that are in need of a good home, however there are some many people that do not take adoption of a dog as seriously as they should. You are not getting a toy. You are assuming a responsibility for a feeling, breathing creature that had already suffered from sickness, neglect, heartbreak or all of the above. A+ across the board.
I completed an application and tried to contact them many times with no response ever. They have so many dogs in foster homes for years but won't get back to me.
I love being a volunteer for adopt a boxer rescue!!! I admire the other volunteers who have given selflessly of themselves to give boxers a second chance and the love they deserve. I have also met wonderful people through reference checks, vet checks, home visits, marketing events and transports. I rescued Brody who was found on the side of a road at 4 weeks old and Princess Nona who was dropped off in the dark one night in the yard of a shelter. Se was later adopted and returned because she didn't listen. It turns out that Princess Nona is deaf which is not apparent since Brody serves as her ears. She sticks to him like glue and we have never had a problem with either dog. They both enrich the lives of all who know them and they are amazing with our baby. Please keep up the good work AABR!
Adopt a Boxer Rescue volunteering has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my life. I cant express the feelings when you have been able to assist in being a part of a dog finally being placed in a loving wonderful forever home. Some of these dogs have been abused, not properly cared for and all they want is someone to care for and love them. The people in this group are very caring and expend so much of their time as volunteers to help these poor dogs. I personally am a foster mom, and I assist in reviewing applications and have done home visits. I will for sure be a part of this organization for many years to come and hope that you consider them for one of the Top Rated Non profits because they sure deserve it and they make a difference in a lot of animals and peoples lives!!!!!!!!!
