I knew that crossing paths with Atlanta Glow wasn’t a coincidence. Navigating workforce re-entry following a significant battle with mental illness had proven to be a challenge for me. Seeing the Work Ready Program ad on my social media feed felt like God’s way of telling me that I wasn’t forgotten—there was in fact a place for me to start over. Applying for this program was the scariest thing that I’d done since gaining my stability. Therefore, I’m grateful to have been welcomed into such a supportive learning environment. This program provided me with much needed reassurance regarding where my focus should be as a growing professional. I’ve learned that having a good character and a strong will to learn can carry a person far in the workforce. Between conversations with various industry professionals and access to training tools, I’m able to walk away from this program with a clearer view of my strengths and weaknesses. It was an honor and a privilege to have been taken under the wing of Atlanta Glow—my work ready spirit is back!
