Atlanta GLOW

I have just completed my first experience with Atlanta Glow, and I absolutely loved it. It was fun yet educational at the same time, and truly helped change my thinking when it comes to financial literacy. I have began my next program with them and cannot wait to see the end result, and take the skills I learn with me for the rest of my life. I am so thankful for them!

I have done 2 of Atlanta Glows wonderfully constructed programs. This past summer I participated in Leadership 101 and I learned so many thing that I didn’t know before.

It was such a safe space and I always felt safe voicing my opinion. For 6 Saturdays I got to spend 2 hours feeding my mind and talking to a brilliant group of young ladies who are so beautifully inspiring in their own little ways. I wish it was longer.

The Atlanta GLOW Work Ready Program provided invaluable support to help me feel confident in my resume and ability to interview well for finding work. I am grateful to the women who put the program together and the resources they provided.

Great nonprofit!! This nonprofit has given me a place of work. Has connected me with numerous connections and has helped me grow as a person. I have done work-ready programs and leadership programs. I love it and will forever be grateful.

Atlanta Glow is one of the best nonprofits I have worked with period. I have been participating in programs with them since 2020 and it has completely changed my life. I knew that crossing paths with Atlanta Glow wasn’t a coincidence. Navigating workforce re-entry following a significant battle with mental illness had proven to be a challenge for me. Seeing the Work Ready Program ad on my social media feed felt like God’s way of telling me that I wasn’t forgotten—there was in fact a place for me to start over. Applying for this program was the scariest thing that I’d done since gaining my stability. Therefore, I’m grateful to have been welcomed into such a supportive learning environment. This program provided me with much needed reassurance regarding where my focus should be as a growing professional. I’ve learned that having a good character and a strong will to learn can carry a person far in the workforce. Between conversations with various industry professionals and access to training tools, I’m able to walk away from this program with a clearer view of my strengths and weaknesses. It was an honor and a privilege to have been taken under the wing of Atlanta Glow—my work ready spirit is back!

The best organization I've ever had the honor to be apart of, truly. The most warm and giving group of women. They've taught me an ample amount of information from sought after workforce skills to knowing how to networking effectively. Atlanta GLOW has really helped me grow my confidence as a leader. The summer program and mentorship turned my thinking around and allowed me to connect deeper with my community and how I can actually do something about some of the everyday problems I see. I thoroughly have enjoyed being a mentor with GLOW. It’s very organized and professional. It allows me to truly develop a genuine relationship with my mentee. Each month the topics help with the conversations and focus that my mentee and I discuss and worked through. I would highly recommend this non profit!

I began working with Atlanta GLOW in the beginning of 2021 when in an unprecedented world of a global pandemic, I found myself in a brand new city and with new perspective given the social climate, and was craving the ability to return back to my roots of giving back to the community, volunteering, and advocating for injustices! Ashlie gave me the opportunity to join this community as a member of the core team where I am able to support the needs and missions of the organization virtually! It has been the best of both worlds as I have been able to satisfy my passion for making a difference while also maintaining social distance and protecting the wellbeing and health of others. I look forward to working closely with Atlanta GLOW virtually and in-person and continuing to grow as a community leader. I am so proud and honored to be part of a community that pioneers for young women and have even found myself able to learn and prosper form their programs and activities as an evolving young woman myself!

Atlanta GLOW is making a difference in our community by mentoring young women in several aspects of their lives. Atlanta GLOW was my first experience mentoring in my local community. In all honesty, I had no idea what to expect but they far surpassed what I had in mind. Engaging with the leadership is welcoming, easy to do and encouraged. Having worked with multiple students in the program, I find them all open and hungry for mentorship. Helping these young women build the life they want has been a really rewarding experience. Additionally, I was able to do it in a professional and safe way that fit the needs of both the students and myself. Atlanta GLOW has been and continues to be a great nonprofit to engage with and support.

I started with Atlanta Glow virtually, and Ashlie has gone over and beyond to ensure I felt included, have the resources I need to be successful and she is always prompt, professional, and patient anytime I have questions. Atlanta GLOW is the best non-profit for building strong girls and women grounded in self-love, purpose, leadership. This organization has helped so many young women broaden their horizons through various programs such as mentoring, youth leadership, financial literacy and more. Young women graduate from Atlanta Glow's programs with more confidence, positive outlook on life and direction to achieve their goals. For these reasons, Atlanta Glow is the best.

I truly had an amazing experience with this program. The program has helped me focus on my self care better. Also, the program really help shed a light on the little things that can go unnoticed to where you might affect others. The Atlanta Glow nonprofit organization has been a fertile source of motivation and inspiration. I was first introduced to Atlanta GLOW by a friend who serves on the Advisory Board. She spoke very highly of the programs as well as the organization's Executive Director, Ashlie James. I was so intrigued by everything I was hearing, that I wanted to see for myself. So I had the pleasure of meeting with Ashlie and was totally impressed by how Atlanta GLOW operates as well as the impact of the programs. It was not long after our meeting, that I began to serve on the Advisory Board. I must say that almost 6 months later, I am still amazed by everything Atlanta GLOW does. I had the opportunity to attend and volunteer at the Career Extravaganza and the Young Women's Leadership Conference. Both events were phenomenal, but the best part was seeing the faces of girls and young ladies participating in the events. They were so engaged and you could just see the impact being made on their lives. I am so happy to be apart of such an awesome organization. I look forward to seeing many more young ladies being empowered and transformed!

Atlanta GLOW provides life changing experiences for the community it serves and those that get an opportunity to participate in serving with them. The leadership team truly lives its mission "to encourage, educate and equip young, low-income women to be thriving, self-sustaining leaders and effective agents of economic growth within their communities" every single day. I loved my experience volunteering with Atlanta GLOW during their Career Day Extravaganza in April. Seeing the looks on the young ladies faces of deep appreciation for all the care that was invested in them that day was truly priceless. Atlanta GLOW is extremely organized and invested in its mission and it shows in everything they do. I look forward to participating many more times in the future.

I had the pleasure of working with Atlanta GLOW and meeting the phenomenal Mrs. Ashlie James. The event (Young Women's Leadership Conference) was a huge success, thanks to everyone that had a hand in it. Every year this team grows and strive to exceed the set expectations. The unity, communication and the action is what makes this organization great!

I had a great time helping Atlanta GLOW. Everyone was warm and wonderful to the volunteers, and I could see that the participants were benefitting from the knowledge shared throughout the event.

This is a worth while organization. My personal experience with Mrs. Ashley James has left a last impression on my life. I would recommend any young woman get involved, and take advantage of the life changing experiences that you will encounter with Atlanta Glow.

I met Atlanta Glow founder through an event I hosted and found that they are a nonprofit dedicated to filling a much needed area in young women's lives. From that one encounter, I became a financial supporter and personally know of a young lady who was selected for the Leadership Incubator Program. Through that program, I watched her confidence flourish. I also had the privilege of watching the organization at work when I sponsored their lunch during the LIP. It was evident that the young ladies in LIP were truly being impacted and would take what they've learned with them for years.

I had the pleasure of being mentored by the lovely Mrs. Ashlie James over the summer of 2015. She and Atlanta GLOW are a blessing to the community, and really make a difference in the lives of the young women they come in contact with!

This is a wonderful organization that is helping a population of young women, who usually get left out. Most of the time, it is an assumption that you would already have a mentor, however Atlanta GLOW is filling in the gap to assist with career exploration, educational opportunities, and personal development.

I volunteered for Atlanta GLOW on several occasions and the experience was amazing. Working with these young girls who are striving to be remarkable entrepreneurs was very fulfilling, I also make donations whenever i can because I truly believe and support this nonprofit organization 100%.

I entered Atlanta Glow as a junior in high school and I am currently a senior in high school. I feel as though by participating in Atlanta Glow it has prepared me for my future. Atlanta Glow is by far one of best mentoring programs I have ever participated in! This organization is grounded in helping young women to grow and develop professionally in the business world and to lead well exceptional lives. The organization provides a multitude of resources to help improve the quality of one's professional presentation by offering workshops on interviewing skills, resume reviews, professional dress, and educational resources. As a pass mentee and current member of the organization, I will say that this organization has positively impacted my life for the better and given me so much confidence for my furture endeavors.

This is an awesome organization. I had the chance to meet with the founder and a few of the ladies of the jr advisory board; about a month ago. They were all very polite and lovely and seemed to be benefitting gravely from the likes of ATL Glow. Ashley is a sweet spirit. She's passionate and has an innate grasp of her organizations mission. She's calm and collected and stays true to fulfilling the wants and needs of all of the ladies inducted into programs attached to ATL Glow. I had the privilege of being chosen for Atlanta GLOW's 2016 Leadership Incubator Program. I am so grateful for all of the incredible tools Atlanta GLOW has provided to me. I just attached the resume Atlanta GLOW helped us craft to a Summer Public Policy Institute application at Princeton University next year. I am a first generation college student whose parents have gone through a foreclosure so I'm adamant about becoming a self-sustaining leader and effective agent of economic growth and success within my community as Atlanta GLOW's mission outlines. I've had to research in depth the impact on GLOW has had on the local community as a professional task as my boss considered whether to affiliate with them. I was astounded at what I found. This organization is making an impact in such a needed area and doing it with integrity. After discovering the facts about them I was compelled to donate and support them long term.

Atlanta Glow is a wonderful nonprofit organization that helps young ladies in many ways, they are always helping and volunteering their services to a lot of other causes. I have seen them pour into so many young ladies which makes a different in today's society.

My experience is actually in the preliminary phase, but I know enough already to write this review. I sort of stumbled across Atlanta GLOW via a news blast from my daughter's high school pertaining to volunteer services at the upcoming PGA tournament here in Atlanta. When I saw that GLOW was the source of the initial email, I contacted them to inquire about the possibility of the small private school at which I now teach providing volunteers as well. The enthusiastic, positive response from Ashlie James and the ensuing exchange of a couple of more emails with her afterward, led me to research a little more about GLOW. From this limited experience alone I already know that 1) GLOW is a first class operation, 2) they hire first class people, and 3) their marketing is top notch. Looking forward to establishing a closer relationship with them on both the giving and receiving ends.
