My Nonprofit Reviews

Sam B
Review for The Trevor Project, Inc., West Hollywood, CA, USA
I was relatively new to the West Hollywood/Los Angeles area when I began volunteering for The Trevor Project in 2001. Over the years I met the most wonderful, passionate and dedicated group of people that one can imagine. These people were saving lives and changing lives and doing as a remarkable team. Some of my closest friendships started through my work with Trevor. Volunteering can change your life too.
More Feedback
I've personally experienced the results of this organization in...
that when I started they only received about 300 calls per month to the Trevor Helpline, now, 8 years later, they receive over 1,800 per month. They continue to find ways to get the word out to other youth that feel alone and have suicidal thoughts.
If I had to make changes to this organization, I would...
keep pushing forward to eventually make the mission of the organization obsolete.
What I've enjoyed the most about my experience with this nonprofit is...
sustaining friendships and sense of purpose.
The kinds of staff and volunteers that I met were...
passionate, persistent, and dedicated.
If this organization had 10 million bucks, it could...
Save more lives.
Ways to make it better...
More people participated so that no LGBT or Questioning Youth feels that suicide is their only option.
In my opinion, the biggest challenges facing this organization are...
resources, financial and otherwise, to get the message to all schools.
One thing I'd also say is that...
it takes everyone to help.
