This fantastic organization gives much-needed sleep, solace, peace, and the opportunity to meet others who share our struggles. When I return after a weekend away, I am a better mother. I miss my family but appreciate them in a different way returning to my "everyday life." AMR is the best model of respite I've seen so far. Andrea has come up with an area in so many lives that wasn't getting replenished. Reasonably priced, quiet lowkey location, but things to venture out to do if wanted. I love having no schedule, no clocks in the bedrooms, and the ability to be as social (or not) as I want.
Most moms do not make self-care a priority. Add in one or more special needs children, resulting in a strain on our marriages, fatigue, and poor mental health. I highly recommend this wonderful respite to break away from the daily routines of exhausting caregiving, relax and meet others who understand life's demands, and build new friendships!
