Recently we had a day when we ran Short on supplies and had to make do without a needed item. This not only left sadness in the heart of the nurse who was working that day but also gave us the determination to fix it. I was asked to try and find underware to have on hand. I had worked at another hospital who had received assault survivor kits from the assistance league so I reached out through their website.
When I reached out asking for supplies they were quick to respond and then one of their volunteers drove more than 40 miles to bring us the items we needed by the end of the week.
Thank you for supporting our nurses who with compassion and courage help those who have been assaulted.
What you do makes a lasting impact on the hurting person who has been assaulted and gives the nurses who do this difficult task the ability to go home at the end of the day knowing that they had given the best possible care to those who need it most.
