When I found a hurt pigeon on the city street three years ago I had no idea what to do, so I contacted Palomacy. They helped me with next steps for this little feral, but, having joined the online Help Group I began to see just how much they helped pigeons and doves of all kinds, in any and every situation and location. So I started helping transport hurt pigeons to that local wildlife hospital -- I became a rescue volunteer! Soon after, I adopted my first pigeon and started working at the pigeon-friendly wildlife hospital I found through Palomacy. Since then, I have helped rescue hundreds of pigeons and am heavily involved in wildlife rescue, rehab, and advocacy, especially when it comes to pigeons, both domestic and feral. I am a pigeon rescuer, Help Group Moderator, and I help answer Palomacy's hotline to assist other people who need help with a pigeon situation. Palomacy absolutely changed my life. It's a lot crazier now and chock full of pigeons, but it feels like such important work to help these amazing, marginalized birds who deserve so much better than what they've got.
