Semillas is doing inspiring work in Guatemala fostering rural community development and improving the livelihoods of thousands of families. They have a holistic approach to food security and long-standing malnutrition that integrates nutrition, education, culture, the environment and micro-business. Their capacity-building program aims to foster first-hand knowledge and self-confidence in the communities, putting the families front and center and encouraging self-reliance. It is very motivating to see the impactful work that Semillas is doing with over two thousand families, and how they have begun replicating their program in four distinct regions of Guatemala. Hopefully, in the near future, it can also be replicated in other communities in Latin America!
