I volunteered, temped, and did an internship over the years at SHS. The people really care about the welfare of the animals in their care. I'm a frequent donor and auction attendee. The programs for vet care and fostering are amazing, as well as the life flights to bring in animals from overcrowded shelters is truly heartwarming.

This last December I adopted my pride and joy, Bean. He picked me so I know it's true love :)

I have been a supporter of Assistance League of the Eastside for several years and I am always impressed by their dedication, compassion and impact. They are an all-volunteer organization that provides clothing, care items and support to children and adults who are facing hardship or violence in the community. They have four programs that address different needs: Operation School Bell, which provides new school clothing to low-income students; Assault Survivor Kits, which gives comfort items and clothing to victims of sexual assault or domestic violence; Starting Over Support, which helps families who are escaping abusive situations with household essentials; and Help4Homeless, which assists homeless families with clothing and hygiene items. They partner with local agencies, schools and shelters to reach those who need their help the most. They also have a thrift shop that raises funds for their programs and offers affordable items to the public.

Assistance League of the Eastside is a great nonprofit that transforms lives and strengthens the community. They are always looking for new members, volunteers, donors and partners who share their vision of creating a better future for everyone. I highly recommend them to anyone who wants to make a difference on the Eastside.
