The “Childhood Leuikemia Foundation” of Lansing, Michigan, calls several times a year. The scam is a “thank you for you previous donation (of $15, $20 etc.), then they ask if they “can count on you” to donate again this year. Sounds legit, but it’s a scam. I tell anyone who solicits me over the phone to mail me the info. They did and within a day of arriving in my mailbox, the call center is at it again, reminding me to honor my pledge and consider increasing my donation. Don’t fall for it. Check Guide Star or Charity Navigator to look up charities before sending any money.
