Review for Dogtree Pines Senior Dog Sanctuary, Prescott, AZ, USA
Tucker, an 8 yr. old Great Pyrenees needed a home quickly due to a life threatening illness his owner, my friend, had. Several people expressed interest in adopting him and none followed through due to his size, and some medical needs. That is when Cindy Lamont, Founder of Dogtree Pines Senior Dog Sanctuary stepped up and gave him a home. Having known Tucker for many years I wanted to insure that Tucker was in a good place to meet his needs and I requested a tour from Cindy...that was when I fell in love with Dogtree Pines and all the residents. Each of the senior residents live in the main house with Cindy and her partner Bill, on beds which cover the floors of many of the rooms as well as human beds. Homemade food with supplements needed for each dog are provided for all meals. Walks in the pines on 3.5 acres greet each dog daily as well as individual walks, provided by volunteers, around the neighborhood if desired. Hydro-therapy is provided to improve many physical limitations of these seniors and all their medical issues are quickly addressed by area veterinarians.
After my initial tour of Dogtree Pines I couldn't return fast enough to help and be a part of this amazing sanctuary. I currently am on the Board of Directors and spend time researching funding sources to assist with the tremendous expenses incurred in providing the needed services to the unwanted, medically fragile, senior dogs who reside at Dogtree Pines Senior Dog Sanctuary.
