I have volunteered with several animal rescue organizations, primarily in San Diego, ranging from small to large size, all-inclusive and senior animals. None has touched my heart as much as Dogtree Pines Senior Dog Sanctuary in Prescott, AZ. A couple years ago we moved to AZ to start a small senior dog sanctuary and I studied so many of the key success factors to operate such a place. We didn't find the right property to do this work ourselves, but when I found DTP I knew I found a very special place and incredible owners. I was so inspired that I joined as a volunteer, I wanted to join the magic here at DTP.

These senior dogs are not only well treated here, they are genuinely LOVED! Cindy and Bill are incredibly kind, compassionate, and knowledgeable caretakers. Many of these dogs have experienced abandonment, trauma, and awful conditions prior to coming here. But as I watch the transformations from lonely, sad dogs to happy, loved members of a large pet family, I thank God for this special place. A peaceful, loving, clean, well-organized sanctuary for their remaining years.
