Review for Amgen Safety Net Foundation, Thousand Oaks, CA, USA
Very disappointed. The process of trying to get approved by Amgen Safety Net foundation caused so much added stress, overwhelm and tears that I had to give up and search for my heart medicine out of the country. My Dr's office faxed the rx 3 times and all 3 times, Amgen claims the faxes were never received. I supplied a PA denial stating that Medicare will not cover the drug for POTS as that indication is not in the compendia, only heart failure is covered. Yet, Amgen requires 2 more appeals of which the Dr cannot proceed with because the reason for denial was true and there is no new information to provide for another appeal. I explained this to 3 different Amgen Safety Net employees. Amgen likes putting the responsibility on the patient to provide information that has been repeatedly provided or information that cannot humanly be provided. They feign ignorance with the whole "we didn't receive the fax" excuse. Why aren't they reaching out to the Dr directly to see how they can help? Answer: They are not trying to help needy patients. Amgen appears to only want the tax write offs of helping some patients. What charity is known for stressing out patients needing heart medication? Answer: Amgen.
