Review for Rx Outreach, Maryland Heights, MO, USA

Rating: 3 stars

RX Outreach is a great alternative for expensive medications, particularly if you don't have insurance. The only thing is that the mailing time varies and it can be a little tricky when you need to refill a prescription for a controlled substance medication. They meet the expectations for a mail service, but keep in mind they are a non-profit, so they run a lean operation. Therefore, controlled medications are processed twice a week, so you really need to time the transaction. You need to plan ahead and coordinate well with your doctor, to make sure you get your prescription in time. Also, is not a bad idea to give them a follow up call or check their website, next day after your doctor sends the prescription, to make sure they received it and everything is in order. This is not a paid or premium service, so you should always follow up on the status of your prescription on their website. Make sure to call them if the status of your prescription on their website provides a tracking number, but when you click on it, the USPS system says they haven't received the package yet. It usually takes them 1 or 2 days from the moment they issue the mailing label and tracking number, to the actual sending of the package. I have not order any non-controlled substance medication, so I don't know how fast or easy is their service for other type of prescriptions. Their customer service is very good, but they are always busy, so usually is better to use their "call back" service option, provided while on hold for a representative.
