I am a nurse and midwife from Ireland who joined ISA in 2012. ISA a unique organisation where parents, clinicians, researchers, and policy makers can come together from across the globe to listen and learn from one another. Parents sit on the Board and contribute to every level of the work of ISA, it is a real partnership organistaion. Together we all work tirelessly to reduce the incidence of stillbirth annually across the world and to improve bereavment care for women and families whose babies die each year. I am proud to say I was elected to the Board in 2016 and have served as Treasurer since 2017 and in that time ISA has contributed to global initiatives such as the Lancet Series on Ending Preventable Stillbirth, WHO Global Health Assemblies, the ISA Parent's Voices Initiatives in India and Kenya, and the ISA Global Stillbirth Regestry of supports for families. Please consider donating to this amazing organisation, run by volunteers but with the ability to affect change in every corner of the globe. ISA, like Ireland, is small but mighty!
