I am a volunteer at the Oakland Animal Shelter and in charge of the aviary, for our pigeons. OAS is a city owned shelter, so we have to take every tame animal found in Oakland. People buy pigeons to release for celebrations, not realizing that they are tame (not homing) pigeons, that can’t take care of themselves. They get killed by cats, raccoons, etc. Palomacy has been a great help to us, while we care for these sweet birds, both financially and by sharing their knowledge. I rely on Palomacy to help me with the pigeons.
